I have tried many times to play my game over a WAN.
However it never works.

I don't have triggering I have forwarding.I saw another
post but it looked outdated.Yes I do know how to
successfully port forward. In case you haven't guessed
yes I'm behind a router. tongue.gif

I'm forwarding these ports: 2300-47624

Is this correct?

I found this with a quick google search:
2300-2400 and 47624.
this means that all ALL ports between 2300 and 2400 are forwarded, plus 47624.

dont freak out smile.gif you dont have to forward 101 ports manually, most( if not all) routers can be told to forward a port range (in your case 2300-2400).

by the way, what router do you have?

Edit:changed 67624 to 47624
Geniuswalker
I can do it thanks smile.gif
Just needed the ports

Wait, this isn't right!
"67624" ? Ports can't be over 65535
LSnK
A typo. Read the line above that one.
Geniuswalker
I forwarded:2300-47624.
Also stopped Norton and Windows Firewalls.

I'm on Windows XP btw

Any more suggestions?

This definitely doesn't belong in the advanced section.

Anyway...

If your using an ancient system called MPlay, then both players need to have the ports forwarded.

I assume the code works fine on LAN?
Geniuswalker
Yea works perfect on LAN

ancient?
What does everyone else use for online in Game maker?
slayer 64
i've used hamachi.
Obj_Control
39dll, made by 39ster. It's basically the best online communication method right now.
safwat1995
2300-47624?
thats wayyy too much ports. it makes you exposed to hackers.
you need to forward 2300-2400
and then 47624 separately.

EDIT: oh and yeah, 39dll is way better than mplay, but a bit more complicated
