This is an RPG where a nameless hero goes to save the world. It is very old-school and I did that on purpose. You don't control the hero during battle, so all preparations must be done outside of battle. I hope you enjoy the Awesomeness.

This game was pretty cool!
I didn;t think auto fighting would be interesting, but you proved it wrong.
In my opinion..I thought this was a good game! laugh.gif

Yep, pretty great game.
The only thing that have stopped me from playing were 'those fire mages. Its seems quite impossible to kill them.

Pretty fun, I only played it for a bit.
vadim647

fun because it's very fast paced. I would have liked it to be a bit more open-ended, and since it seems to be inspired in part by dragon warrior I sort of expected it.

Some of the towns were lacking residents with interesting things to say, and there needed to be more neat environments like the tree.

I really like the graphics.

Was this game made with Lite Edition (unregistered version) of Game Maker?

Was this game made with Lite Edition (unregistered version) of Game Maker?

What does that have anything to do with?
If you really want to know, just use some common sense.
What appears everytime you run a game made in Game Maker lite?
Kyon
I hated it,
but that is mostly because I dont
like these kind of games.

Anyway,
nice coding work.

Well actually, I did program a great deal of the game on a computer that didn't have a registered version of Gamemaker. I did finish it, though, with a registered version. But, most of the functions and stuff I used didn't need the registered version of Gamemaker to do.

Fun game. I like the old school style. I would suggest there be a way to drop items. I got stuck with two ethers and two antidotes because I never used magic and would almost never get poisoned.

I found a couple of bugs:
-Whenever I got killed by a boss, and I'd go back to the fight them they were gone. I got past Artemis and the Wrath King this way.
-The music and sounds wouldn't play some times. They would usually stop in the middle of a battle.

Also when I try to continue after 'defeating' the Wrath King, I get an error when I choose continue on the main menu:

EDIT:
I just remembered another bug. The world HUD didn't show up most of the time. By HUD I mean the little dispaly in the top left that shows your items, level, hp, mp, and gp.

That was pretty fun. I beat it in 29.6 minutes. I would have found it to be more fun if it wasnt auto-battling, but i still found enjoyment in it because of how fast paced it was. I'm not exactly ready to just jump right in the second adventure quite yet but i might come back to it. I really liked the final boss area i felt like a GOD.

"you attack darklord for 60ish damage
dark lord attacks you for 0
you attack darklord for 60ish damage
dark lord sits and waits
you attack darklord for 60ish damage
dark lord is charging an attack
you attack darklord for 60ish damage
youhave defeated the darklord"

perhaps he could have been a bit stronger...

Anyway I loved the in battle sprites, they were amazing, some of the out of battle tiles we pretty good too. the whole game itself reminded me of the first dragon warrior which, after seeing this, im sure you've played. good job nice solid game, i enjoyed it.

also there is one glitch, which is that, if you lose to a boss and come back they will be gone
rogasoukidan
great game, cant wait for the sequel

Well I played up until that evil mage in the start of the castle. I played defensively with really high defense but those hurt spells just kicked my ass.

Really enjoyable game overall though, good job.
DiJeGo
Great game! The combination of graphics and music give that real old relaxing touch to the game!
Everyone who loves RPGs should have a great time playing this.

This game is an example on how simple and retro games can be fun. I enjoyed it alot.

Completed in 22:00, Level 14. Demon lord did only 5 DMG to me biggrin.gif

8/10 Nice job.

Really nice game, here's my wonderings:
- Sometimies, when Mystics cast hurt, they do -damage and heal me.
- Is monster movement random? I noticed they use to ramp up. I left the game for ten minutes and after that al the monster were cramped in the northern tiles
- Oh, and it is boring to do all the dungeon backward when you get an item.
Marcos_del_Bauer
First off, thanks for all the feedback. Umm... the negative damage from the mystics... that's a bug that I hadn't noticed until I released the game. But, right now I'm too lazy to fix it. I've got a bunch of different projects I'm working on right now so, it will have to wait. In the mean time enjoy getting life back from them and an easy final boss... ENJOY IT!!

The monster movement is random. It's not perfect by any means...

But, hey, at least most of the feedback has been good. *Self-Esteem has gone up by .1!*

Great game! I beat it in 37 minutes without dying or using more than 1 health potion and I never casted a spell.
So it was pretty easy. Hopefully the second adventure will be harder... we'll see soon.

Thanks for the game, had a lot of fun.
