Another Orange Feather Production

I would like to introduce my newest game...

Story-
The story of Light and Dark is brought back this century where a young boy by the name of Makayl has been ripped away from his home and friends to fulfill the duty of the Hero of Light. He must travel the various distant areas of the world to collect the 8 Gems of Light from the Darkness. You must help Makayl dodge, maneuver, and fight his way through the darkness to achieve his mission to destroy the darkness once and for all.

Controls-
As for controls this game uses only the Mouse and the Esc key

My Walk Through Idea- sleep.gif
I know some of you might have trouble from time to time...and I had a plan to make videos of someone (like me) to play through each of the levels to show you how they should be done...like a video walk through...but I had trouble recording the game, I tried almost all the computer screen recorders but every time I record, the frame speed slows down..so I'm asking a friend to help with that..but if any of you guys have any other ideas..please feel free to share..

Other screens-

Features-
-Surprisingly great storyline
-Mouse based controls
-Auto save feature
-9 different areas to play through
-Up to 7 items to use on your journey
-9 different enemies to fight
-Challenging boss fights

Personal note-
This game was made soulfully by the music. This was my first time using this new music program and I loved it! I designed all the music for this game.
So if you don't like the game, I really hope you like the music!

And finally the link-
The link to part 1 is HERE
The link to part 2 is HERE
The link to part 3 is HERE
The link to my game Without Music is - HERE

I hope you enjoy this game! happy.gif

Ok, i normally like to play games and im not that picky with file size, but come on!. 76MB is a huge file size for the game.

Im sorry but unless you reduce atleast a half of that im not going to download. dry.gif

Ok then..does anyone else feel this way? mellow.gif

If you can tell me a way to compress my music files and make them still playable in the game, I'm all ears.. happy.gif

Use midi files instead of mp3 Midi files are much smaller. Just get some generic midi songs from the resource forums. Then when your game becomes super popular and well known, then you can use higher quality music formats.

Hi, Mr. Gamelover110.

I don't believe you'll be getting too many downloads with that big a filesize.
That said, I downloaded it last night, took 10 minutes. The fade-in's and fade-out's of the intro sequence pictures were a bit annoying, though.

Anyway, in the actual game, the gameplay of the non-action sequences seems very familiar to other games I've played. However I think it's quite hard to move the character, as he gets stuck on walls.
In the action parts, the sword has very little reach, and the slow movement speed of the character tends to make it difficult to fight.
I didn't play for too long. The forest boss was very frustrating, as he was somehow capable of moving much faster than me, and I kept trying to attack him but the character moved towards the cursor and kept bumping into him.

Some of the graphics are cute though, and although I didn't get far, I took the time to listen to most of the soundtrack in the folder and it's interesting.

Have fun.

ok..

I added a link to my game without sound.

I didn't anticipate this being a problem..so I didn't have a back up...

Sorry if you get stuck into walls..I dunno how to fix that..
Make sure you use the right mouse button to stop your self..
And I'll consider changing the player's speed in battle

If anyone else has problems, which i'm sure you all probably do, inform me..
Shadow Link
Hehe, very nice game. I downloaded the version with music, took hardly any time at all. You might want to look into how to shorten the size on those tracks, though.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say this was a little inspired by Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess wink1.gif. I like how you mixed in some of your own ideas and made something new out of it, but it was a little bland. The graphics were also not so appealing (to me, at least). There's definite room for improvement there, but it's somewhat tolerable.

I also noticed you get stuck on walls during battle mode. If you're too close to a wall when Battle Mode starts, you get stuck in the "fence".

Overall though, it's a nice concept. I only played up until the first battle of the second area (not that far), but I liked it. I highly, highly suggest you compress or do something about the sound. Your musical skills are great! It would be a shame if nobody got to hear that.
gamelover110
OK thank you Shadow Link

I wish there was another way to compress the sound, but i don't know any other way...
I would like to prefer to use midi files as a last resort..It'll be harder to find the music matching the moments in the game rather than using the music made for those moments...

I know you get stuck to the walls..but I don't know how to fix that either..i used the move_towards_point code and stops when it collides with the wall...
As for when battle mode starts and, I'm assuming, when the barrier appears, I didn't anticipate you walking in where the barrier appears instead of the middle of it and i'm sorry..
gamelover110
Ok guys...
I just thought of this just now and hope that this will work out for most of you...

Instead of downloading 1 big ZIP, I split the file into 3 parts, the new links are shown above...
Just extract them all into 1 folder.

Hopefully this should clear the whole "Big File" problem..... sleep.gif
