No need for a formal announcement here, but the recent error people were having was because the posts table decided to crash. I done a repair on it and things should be fine now.
Enjoy.

Awesome. I was wondering what could have caused it. I sorta knew that it might have had something to do with the tables, just wasn't sure. Ah well, at least everything's back to the norm.

This wouldn't have anything to do with Clayton deleting those unused files would it? Either way, I suppose it doesn't matter, I'm just glad that I no longer have to view the forum in lo-fi mode.

I just got back to my computer with the IPS Driver Error still up on my screen, I hit refresh and I end up here with this topic at the top.
I'm just glad I wasn't the only one getting the error, I was going crazy.

Are you serious? I could have had my game updated ages ago, then! Arg!!!!!

Viewing in Lo-fi mode as well as typing in the topic directly to the Address Bar seemed to work for me, however it was extremely time consuming and annoying.

Oh well. It was nice while it lasted. I rather enjoyed the IPS error. No spam to clear. No complaints about illegal bumps or over-sized signatures. The Staff got a nice rest.
Chronic, would you show me how to break the post table? It might come in handy in the future.

C'mon, I depend on that spam.
Without it, the chance of a meaningful post declines, as there are usually gems in the rough. That's why you post in a spam forum for advice.

Ah excellent - all back up and running. It would be terrible if all of these great resources on the forums were lost without being archived somewhere.

Not for me; i've tried everything possible but could only view the board index and some other pages like the calendar etc. Why does it act differently for different computers i wonder?

I don't think it was different for different computers, I think it was probably just dependant on the time you came online. At some stages it was more accessible than others. Glad to see it's all back online

When something like this happens it makes me smile because I think of the interruption free time we have had in between problems and how slow the server used to be with all the "To Many SQL Connections". Those days were hell.

I was devastated when the forum was down.
@KC LC: I can show you how to break the table, or just altogether make it say that the staff is on vacation and the forum is closed

I thought it was rather hilarious that yoyogames was all like putting a feed out saying "the forums were down for a couple hours, seems we forgot to update our stuff after 2 and a half years, woops, our bad"....but yet it felt more like...I don't know...16+ hours (If you count the problems started the night before the big error it was more like 30 hours).
Oh well, I don't presume to know how they set up their databases, but I would hope they had at least 2 computers (1 for serving and the other to upgrade and swap off between the two when needed)...but that's me.

I think that was refferring to the first issue that was fixed by Clayts not the second problem which caused the IPS Driver Error.

I did get the IPS driver error the night before the main crash that lasted for 12+ or so hours. The first was only for a couple hours but it was still (in my opinion) the same error. Either way, it's fixed and hopefully it doesn't crash again...at least not for a long time.

Moderator Edit: I removed several posts below this one. The issue is resolved, so don't bump this topic again.
