That was a great show - quite entertaining, Well done guys smile.gif I'll try to get the GMCG leaders to participate with the discussion on the next broadcast.

Whoops I forgot it's another time zone.. It's 11:00am here and I came on at the correct time but wrong time zone tongue.gif
So I guess I missed it.

I'll try not to make the same error next week.

I thought this was an excellant first effort.

With this first run, as expected, there were some bugs and glitches that needed to be ironed out as well as format issues that need to be addressed.

In future episodes, I would concentrate on a more targeted focus. Pick some topics, prepare your opinion ahead of time and discuss, invite callers. I would also consider trying to line up specific guests ahead of time.

Man, my mic was bad, wasn't it.

Was quite fun to listen to and talk on; it certainly burned a solid two hours. smile.gif

There's a lot of room for improvement, but I expected that. It's a good start.

Glad you liked it. I was expecting a lot of negative feedback, I was surprised that on the other hand, we got pretty much the opposite. We will probably ditch game discussions, since its harder to interact with members on that subject.

Yeah, your mic was so so bad tongue.gif. Yeah, I was expecting to just burn through that list in 25 seconds, but I was surprised we talked so long on those later topics.

I thought it was a very good first start. Orchestrating live chat, radio, and call-in guests takes some effort. Admittedly, there were some bugs you could (should) have worked out ahead of time. But when they arose, you forged ahead without getting flustered, so that was admirable.

The two co-hosts seemed energized and managed (mostly) to keep the conversation going. But some of your guests seemed half-asleep. laugh.gif Next time, I hope you can pre-arrange some call-in guests that have more energy and something worthwhile to say.

Lastly (as NPT said in the chat room), radio doesn't lend itself to game reviews without some images to go along. So if you continue to do them, maybe you could provide a page of screenshots to accompany each review.

Yeah, its harder then I thought actually. Its also very stressful. My heart rate was about 118 just before I went live. (Of course, Jonos counting didn't help that much)

Yeah, we are going to try to find a list of people to call in and have a predecided topic. For some of our guests, it is pretty late actually tongue.gif

We will probably ditch them, but we may just suffice to post screenshots and have had users play the games in advanced.

I'm really impressed with you guys!
At the beginning, it was a bit rough, but you guys went through and got better and better, got more confident, and it was really fun to sit back and listen.
Please do this a weekly show, not a monthly one... if you need extra help to make this weekly, I can try to join and help biggrin.gif
Anyway, there were some parts you just talked about the spammers in the chat, and you should less focus on that, just deal with it without talking about it.
Also, you can add some things to the website that will help against spammers and such.
First of all, login system, people register, also they say what time zone they are, they get email update when the broadcast will be (at their time zone), and also, you couldn't impersonate anyone that way.
Maybe they could even put in the Skype ID, and the Phone number or something, so if they ask you to add them in, you can just see they're information (as admins only).
I think that if nobody calls in at that moment, just talk to the people through chat, if they don't want to talk in public, they can talk through the chat, and you answer, or comment.
When you know your topics, and you have organized them, publish some of them, so people can go, play that game, read that article, instead of doing it during the show.
And maybe while talking about some game or article, have some place on the side with some pictures of it, or something of that kind.
You should also organize how you want to wrap up, and maybe put some time at the end to let people give you topics to talk about (as you did this time), but make a whole corner for it, but have a decided time to go off air.

Overall, I REALLY liked the broadcast, and I REALLY want you to do it weekly!
It'll really annoy me if you'll do it monthly, so please don't biggrin.gif

So again, good job guys, next time, just let josh's brother call in wink1.gif

Yeah, it was a bit rough cause we have never done it. We do have a life, so Im not sure how possibly a weekly show is. However, if other users can come up with something good enough, they could do their own show and we could all alternate. Sorry if we talked about the spammers too much, we just didn't want people to think we didn't care. We are working on a better site and design, its just taking a little while wink1.gif

we had planned to be more organised in terms of show topics, but we were unable to get the post out till thursday/friday, so thats why it was sort of un-organised. Glad you liked it. Again, we are not sure how possible weekly is going to be.

Well, I missed the start, but caught in later. It was a fun and very entertaining show. It was quite successful and I will enjoy listening to it in the future!
The only thing I will say is, you need to have a conversation going at all times, sometimes all the hosts would all stop talking and we had no discussion for a bit. but it was your first show and I thought it was great!
Good job.
Jono20201
Thanks for all the good comments guys.

If anyone has a game they would like us to touch on please email a link to gmlive@gmvision.tv. I think we will review our reviewing system so that the Ajax updater shows screenshots of the game.

I wish we could do a show EVERY week but it all depends on me getting to my dad’s house to do the streaming on 2 computers and a better internet connection, I will try get something sorted so we can do a live show as soon as possible. If you'd like to be on the show please send your county (NOT STATE) and phone number to gmlive@gmvision.tv so we can call you before the show.

Thanks,

I'm not sure if thats such a good idea- it would like be watching TV and only seeing half the screen, or playing a game with only half the controls available. If you're trying to communicate with someone via speech-to-text, theres going to be alot of times the speaker is waiting for an answer to questions and such, which is going to result in alot of awkward silences, and its not going to be interesting to listen to at all for listeners.

Edit: Oh and nice one on the first show =)

I disagree, ads would get very distracting. Maybe put ads in the lite version, but DEFINITELY not in the Pro version. That's just enough to make me quit using Game Maker altogether. I'd rather learn C++ than have to deal with ads all over the place while I'm trying to work.

I think that would depend on the size of the ads. If they are only the size of affiliate buttons, I'm sure you would change your mind... Maybe.

Yes, they do have the best copy. However, we are going to in the future, record a High Quality version of the show and release it later in the day. We also request that in the future, other game maker sites not archive or upload our shows, (although since I know Phil very well, he asked, and we get a lot off his blog, I suppose he can get away with it for now. wink1.gif)

For some reason the only one that works is the GameMakerBlog one (so I`m thankful it exists this time!)
I`m in Japan right noe (possibly some conflict with where your server is?)...
neither of your links start at all...
the GameMakerBlog one works (but quite bad quality)...
I`m on a killer connection here (about as fast as you can get) so doubt it`s a problem with the line, must be some kinda conflict (Vista 64, IE).

Anyway, pretty good... pretty good.
Could be a whole lot better, but nice first attempt.
I think this could go places smile.gif

Pity there`s no way of kinda combining this with GMVision, & making a visual broadcast/program weekly/biweekly-ish.

AH, GOD I MISSED IT!

Listening to it through the archive now. Amazing work; to be honest I had my doubts, but really this was done well. Great ideas, great speech... really, good job. Handled the problems really well too. All praise here; thumbs up! smile.gif

Only annoyance with me is the choppiness of the audio, but that might just be my speakers or the archive buffering or something. Also try to avoid putting the mic too close to your mouth. Occasionally I heard your breath getting into the mic and making that muffling sound.

Looking forward to the next one.

Robin gave us a nice commentary. Also, NAL called in and talked to us a bit about it, which was cool.
