Bug Reporting
I have spent a long time beta testing this game, along with some other friends of mine. Unforunately errors may popup that we didn't find. One problem that seems to keep occuring is the wrong map images will appear in the top left corner. I am sure I have removed this bug, but if you come across anything that you believe to be an error please report it.
It is likely I am going to make a Chunk 2 to wrap up the story line, so if you have any suggestions feel free to post them too.

Cool game, simple graphics. I didn't notice any bugs but the movement could be polished a little more as I found it a little clunky. Other than that great work.

well I tried version 2 and it's a pretty fun game. few things though, after the strange destructive event in the story, it's difficult to tell which blocks are background and which are actual obsticals. Also, the speech bubbles last a long time, cannot be told to go away, and at times block my line of vision to a place where i must jump. There was a sudden ending at a bridge and I don't know if you've made any more game but I was taken straight back to the menu screen without explaination and I never saw a way to save.
It is fun though, and I liked the music in particular. The art style also game me a few ideas, as it allows for pretty much anything without much hassle.

Firstly, thank you for your reply! happy.gif
In beta testing one of my testers said that they felt a little confused and edgy about the way Chunk wouldn't collide with some objects. I thought hard about this, but concluded that some blocks need to be non-collide so Chunk can get past. I didn't want to have to cut up buildings or made awkward spaces just so Chunk could get past certain landmarks. What I can assure you is that the game has been designed so any blocks that are noncollide are there for aestethic reasons only. At no point in the game are there blocks which will trick you into falling.

The speech bubbles stay there for a long time so slow readers can see the whole message. However I will reduce the time for NPC characters in the future. Storyline messages that appear once will always have a longer delay.
I am guessing you are refering to the part after the destruction where Chunk has to jump over the old man and onto the house to continue (just before your friend catches you leaving). I will shift the message upwards for easy viewing.

There was a sudden ending at a bridge and I don't know if you've made any more game but I was taken straight back to the menu screen without explaination and I never saw a way to save.

Is that in Portule Piers? It requires you to jump over gaps in the pier that have been damaged. Some jumps are bigger than others, and you might miss it once or twice. You will get to the point where an older man will tell you that the pier stops. It does not. Jump onto the concrete structure and make you way up and continue going left. You will then have to jump down and land on a box carefully. You can then continue jumping left and get onto land.
If you miss any jumps over water Chunk will slowly sink and die, so the game will take you to the menu and load the last save. To save press F5 and to load press F6. You can see more on controls in the help file by pressing F1.

Thank you, I spent a lot of time getting the graphics to look right. The first (unreleased) beta of the game has a completely different graphic style which I scrapped in favor of a newer one that is simpler on the eyes. I could post a screen of the old beta with experimental theme if you wanted to see... rolleyes.gif
As for the music, I had a lot of people get involved. I made some music myself and grabbed some effects, but a lot of the music was created by various GMC members. I also put a member called "CompanionCube" in charge of the music department during my abscence.

You should fix the part where you have to restart the game when you die, and make it so that there are save points instead of pressing a save key.

Its not a bug, it loads the last save so if you haven't saved it sends you back to the start. If you don't remember to save, its your fault. I don't think I will be changing Chunk 1 much more (there are still some bugs I am going to clear up) however I do intend to make Chunk 2 and I am noting all of these suggestions, so keep them coming! smile.gif
