Yo)
This program measures your computer's abilities in resizing and blending sprites with different alpha values.
Plus some particles and basic shapes that GM draws.
In the end you get a score result wich you can copy to clipboard.
As far as I see it the results are following:
15 000
or lower -
Low result (you probably have an old computer or there're lots of viruses that slow it down)
26 000
or lower -
Average result (well.. your computer is pretty good)
Higher than 26 000 -
High result (you have a good up-to-date system)
I personally have a pretty old computer)
My specs are:
IntelPentium4 1700 mHz
GeforceFX 5200 256mb video
512mb RAM
and I get about 13-14000 points
everytime
Here are the app's 'in-action' screenies:
Download:Link 1 (whff)Link 2 (YoYo)It would be cool if you post your score and computer specs here, so we could probably make a better 'result sheme'

hmmm... this is not very accurate. I have a 5 year old laptop, and im having trouble running many of the new games coming out, but I got between 24.000 and 26.000 every time I ran the test. Apparently, I have "a good up-to-date system".
My specs are:
Intel Pentium M processor, 1,86 GHz
GeForce Go 6800, 256 MB
1 GB ram
Other then that, it seemed to work the way it should

lol, I got an 'average' result(around 17,00 points), and here are my specs:
Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 3.60 GHz
3.59 GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM.

Wow, my machine sucks.
My score: 9352 Lowest fps: 6/100
It slows down loads within the first 10 seconds, stays at about 6FPS for a while, then speeds back up to 20-30, until near the end.
Pentium M 1.3GHz, 512 MB RAM, 64MB Intel integrated video.
At least I didn't try this with my old laptop... [850MHz, 512MB RAM, 8MB ATI Rage video card], that old laptop made me drop the FPS in my games from 60 to 45...

Thanks for testing everyone!
I guess we need a new result sheme already)
Null1024, it does the same thing for me - slowing in the beginning to reach 12 fps minimum and then speeds up a bit.
And there's a mistake in the first post - I also have only 512 mb RAM
[EDIT]
Changed the results in the first post a bit

This could be a nice screensaver by the way.

Just slow down the speed a notch

Quad Core Intel Q6600 2.4ghz cpu
ATI raedon 4870 1gb mem graphics card
DDR3 ram 1600mhz 4gb
Now for my 2 cents
The test gives a very narrow amount of results if you wish to get my accurate and better make it more stressful on graphics and make it have a higher max fps.
PS: A CPU test would be a good add in. I'll probably be back to check this out.
Compare my score to mme, what do you notice? Vista = Crap lol

I got 'Average'. My laptop is two years old, has had no virus protection for a few months, and was $300-400 when I got it. Eh.

Yep, that's just like my situation - I actually have 1gb of ram but my f*cked up system sees only 512, so my best is 14015 at the moment
By the way - this programm goes 300 steps with room speed 100, so the maximum score is 30 000
it means that if you get around 27-30000 your system is nearly perfect

My score: 3148 Lowest fps: 2/100

I run windows 2000 sp 4, 512 RAM.
That would explain why every game maker game runs slowly, and thousands times slower if ran in fullscreen mode.
