Material World V 1.1
Information
Material world is an abstract explorative platformer. The goal of the game is to simply escape the world which our mystery protagonist finds himself in. The game was made in GM6.1, but has been patched to be Vista compatible.
UPDATE 29/09/08:
Latest version has been updated. There is less of a reliance of the surface engine, meaning more computers should be able to run the game correctly. However this increases inbetween room load times marginally. If you have XP and think you computer will be able to handle extensive use of surface drawing, then download the unpatched version.

Technical Notes
Some older computers may have difficulty allowing enough video memory for the games surface rendering functions. This may cause skewed graphics. Some small sections of the game may also be prone to lag. Turning down the game music is unlikely to help.

Thanks for the info guys. I've updated the game so it runs less off the surface engine. It should be able to run on your machines now, (hopefully).
just one question
The overall movement engine could use some work. And I know the game is absract, but its really slow with very little to do. Nothing to interact with other than walls. The surface effect was pretty cool though.

Looks like a great game from the sounds of it. I'll give it a go in the future. =)
Ampersand
I really wanted to play this, but 'Unknown variable: "sprite".'

Boring.

The cards thing was cool, but the movement was akward, it was impossible to tell which blocks you could move through, and there was nothing to do.
