Utility Description
Quick Screen Recorder is used to record what happens on the screen.
"quick" doesn't mean this was written in five minutes

Anyway, this is a good utility if you for example want to make an instruction video or help out a n00b

Oh, and it's recommended that you use Microsoft Video for compression, some compression functions doesn't work proberly.
Future features (Some may never happen, as i've paused the project for now..):
- Smoother FPS
- Function to record a desired area
- Function to record a window
- System tray support
- Better interface

Good job there. It looks works really nice with very good record quality. Maybe with a better interface (especially the message boxes) would be more understandable.

WTF!?
I think it's the codec, i tried Intels codec, all it did there was terminating the program right away.
I recommed you use MicroSoft Video 1 (Or higher).

I'm looking for no-what else for a screen recorder like this. Keep it free though, don't put limits by which users has to register to use a feature, etc. Good luck with your next release!

Nice application. I really have no comments besides the fact that the buttons look bad and the message boxes (default GM) are ugly.

Of course

V1 uses GMCap, and to my experience, it's REALLY SLOW for realtime capturing!
V2 uses a faster new technique

Useful little program

Could become the screen recorder to rule over all..! (As long as it stays free

)

Just make it smoother, so it doesn't get too laggy when playing big games.

The FPS will become approx. 10, witch is smooth enough in my opinion.

hmm... um... i uh... well.. it recorded the screen... but uh.. then i played my recordings and it cut the screen into 4 peices and stuffed them at random corners of the view, then it inverted one corner kept one the same, shifted the hues on anothercorner and flipped the last corner upside down. then it took 5 minute interval clips and placed them in a random order through out the stream.. but.. it did record it... oh and after 12 minutes it terminated itself.

but

um.

everyone else seemed to liek it so.. good job!

EDIT: ok i tried it again and it works great.. just..pausing doesnt work at all er.. it realyl messes it up

It's the compress method you're using.
Use Microsoft Video 1 or higher, that works

Jomoron: Have you ever tried updating your sound driver?
Go into Add/Remove Programs and find out the name of your sound driver, then go to Google.com and search the name and a "free download" next to the name, like: sound-driver-name free download

Hehe, just found out I had to use the Silent DOS DLL to run a small proggy with command-line arguments.
Now all I have to do, is implementing that DLL, and somehow V2 should work.

I don't have time for it at the moment, so don't expect V2 right now...

AWWWW come on, lol.

No really this is almost the perfect app I have seen on the GMC. No really the most usefull, but the quality is quite bad. If you just fix that it is without doubt the best app on the GMC

Then you don't know the GMC too well.
There's plenty of other apps that's better than this one...

I made a 1 min video and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The file size was 500Mb! considering a regular 1:00min video is around 5Mb that's insane. You have to add a compression thing to it. The quality it comes out with is pixel perfect

. It's too high. That's what jacks up the file size. I would definitly use this instead of other programs but the extrodinarily high file size and having only 4 frames per second almost makes it useless.

If you can increase the frame rate and lower the file size this program will be great.
