Please someone tell me is it possible to make a game online without using any DLLs? And are there any examples or tutorials about this? I couldn't find any. I don't want to use DLLs. And I want the game to be played by up to 6 people. Also if there is someone inerested in this, please see my signature. Credits will be given to those who help me! Thanks!

Yes, game maker has built-in mplay functions for online.

There's a tutorial on the game maker website, www.gamemaker.nl (chat tutorial, but shows you the workings of the functions).

Hope that helps mate smile.gif

If the reason you do not want to use dll's is because you need to register, than the MPLAY functions require you to register also.

Thanks for the replies! I don't want to use DLLs because I just don't get them at all. I am registered. I checkded the tutorial and didn't quite understand it, but I will check it again more carefully. Thanks!

Trust me, you're better off with 39dll.dll (39dll = winsock = mplay(minus)crap(plus)stereoids) than mplay. Plus, there are alot of other nice DLLs. I'm using 3 Game Maker DLLs in a single project (and that's not alot), and I'm glad I made that choice! smile.gif
