for the puzzle with all the turrets you have to find the one that moves when you go near it and blow it up with a bomb

when u fire a rifle shot in that room, it makes more fake turrets...

I haven't played much of it, and haven't fought anybody yet or anything, but from what I played, the art and sprites are very nice, as is the story, and it seems to be better than anything I could ever make. One thing I don't really like though is that it is full-screen. That's not much of a problem, but I just prefer smaller screens which I could minimize easily, should I have to. I'll still be playing it though.

I've been enjoying this game for a week now in my spare time. Really good gameplay and a good storyline I think. I'm in chapter 3 now just exploring. I've noticed a fair number of typos as I've played and have screenshotted them as I ran across them. If you're still updating the game, please fix as mispellings can be quite jarring!

Hmm 'game maker game'... That makes this game sound less then it deserves. It's about the final result not the program the game is developed in.
I can say this is the best rpg I have ever played. (And probably the most enjoyable pc game too)
I wish there was still a market for 2d games.... Damn 3d.

Any tips for the final boss btw? i m still stuck at his first form...

Ive played throught the first chapter in the game and already im amazed. Im trying to make a game of my own, and want to use some of these amazing things in mine. Ive tinkered around, but can find the way to do them. Please help. My main issues are:

* The multi-answerable questions.

* Inventory

* Naming the character and named save filed on the loading screen

* The images in the inventory on the load screen

* The items displayed on the screen, and the healthbar's display

* having an ammount of bullets and displaying them, and not being able to shoot without them

Also, i cant figure the animations out. Ive got multi-imaged spirtes but they don't play the animation unless i hold the spacebar down. And when they do, they keep moving in the last direction i chose. If you could help, or anyone else, that would be great. For the final boss first stage. Get the big flask, then stay out of range of his blast, you will still get hurt when the wind thing comes. When he starts sucking, use bombs. Eventually the bombs will destory his first form. While you wait make sure you avoid the falling missiles and get the coffee and ammo, etc off of them.

Second stage he has a mobile head that fires a laser and can be destroyed by shooting at it. Using the big blast will cut down on time. You will want to replenish your ammo from the things on the side of the columns. The legs, you can either shoot then slash with the sword; or blow with the bomb and slash. The head and legs drop large coffee stashes.

Last stage is just the main body. I don't get the actual rule for putting his shield down, try shooting through the triangle though. When his shield goes down slash him. Take the coffee, rinse and repeat.

Can somebody PLEASE help me find the last biometal, i went over the whole map multiple times but still no luck.
I tried looking through the short descrptions provided but they are so indescriptive.
when i go to the museam the spot that is empty is the one on the bottom left.

The only bad thing, I didn't save the zip file so I lost my save file, thus, I couldn't load my game. I was in Chapter 3: Intent...

This has got to be the longest running topic in the creations forum. And this game definitely deserves it.

I first downloaded this game over a year ago. It remains one of an elite group of games that rise above the "made with Game Maker" moniker that can sometimes garner frowns outside this community. The quality and thought put into this are easily on the level of the classic rpgs/adventure games from the SNES days. While the gameplay, story, sounds, etc. are indeed good, I personally got a lot of enjoyment out of the NPC writing. I can't think of many games (including big budget commercial titles) that consistently provide witty NPC dialog. A true joy with so many games where the writing seems generic.

And remember, life is coffee, and coffee is life!

Is there anything you can do at the collector's hut? When I found him early he was dismissive. Later, when I had just about everything (Rifle 100 shot, upgrade, 20 mine bag, bank account, flask w/mortar ticket) he thought my bomb bag worthless.

Is there a better bag? The guy who sold me the 20-bomb bag wanted 65k for a silk model (unrealistic).

There seem to be a few teasers:

1. Dungeon 1, the room with the red spinning top, central cannon, and chest on an island. No known means of teleport or bridge to island.

2. Southern path, N of NSV leading E through two bombable rocks. A ledge with a chest is unobtainable from either N, W, or via water.

3. NSV island building.

4. Closed building W of northern lodge.

Puzzlemaster has more.

Quick question: if the sound doesn't work, what do I do to fix it? I refuse to play any game without music and sound effects. I sat through the menu, first cutscene, and a little bit of gameplay without any just to see if it was meant to lack sound but at this point I'm pretty sure I was wrong to assume that. Let me know.

You're looking for the one in Dungeon 2, which to be fair is in a pretty horrible place. It's in statue-filled sand dungeon on the North edge of the lake, where you get the bombs. If you go right from the entrance room, it's in the second room from there - the one with three statues which track you left and right - in the middle 'row', on the far right.



As usual I don't have my devnotes with me, so I can't check and give you a direct answer, but you're correct in thinking there's another level of bag you need first. It's definitely not in a random chest somewhere, as most (all?) upgrades are from NPCs... you might want to try making sure you've talked to all NPCs in the NW village and on the lake... Sorry I can't be more helpful. If you're still stuck, ask again and I'll try and find out for sure.



If it's all the sound, that's not, as far as I know, a problem with the game. There's isn't actually a way to turn the sound off (only the music, and that's through the Pause menu) so it sounds like a technical error. Not sure what GM5 does for sounds internally so I'm reticent to say "Drivers!", but...

Hmm, I finally got around to playing this game fully after all this time...

It's been on my comp for a while...

It's actually really cool. I'm on the part where I need to find directions through the snow or something, and I need help on that for the first time...

There are also quite a lot of bugs in the game that I've noticed, but I forgot what they are... THey are just little things... Oh I remember one now... On that ball game you can keep pushing enter and it takes away money and creates more balls. I had -1007 money or something...


Oh, and on certain sprites the transparency goes away for some reason. Sometimes the parts that should be transparent look black.

whats in the secret hut in the village and all the other wierd stuff like the staircase behind the wall in dungeon 1

also theres a glitch in one of the outside areas (i forget where) where you can go west off the screen and appear on top of an angled wall and get stuck. i havent played the game in a few months and just remembered it now

I'm kinda stuck on the northern temple part...

I got through the left hand path and appeared on the right part of the room and stuff... I also noticed neat little dark spots for the blocks so I moved them into those spots. I think I'm on the right track because when I come back to the room they stay in that same spot... I defeated that weird boss that has a spinning ball and ble plasma bomb thing and now I'm stuck...

I read my directive and it says that I need to solve the puzzle using blocks and the orb and to go along tha tleft handed path that I already did...



OK solved it... You have to shoot the blocks with circles on them. I'm now on Chapter 5!!! I'm a bit confused about how you defeat the pyramid thing in dungeon 4 though...

I still have yet to find an additional money thing... Also I hear there's a machine gun enhancement? Must be the guy in western village cuz he has an upgrade I can't afford...


OK beat the boss on my own yet again... Still havent found the money pouch. Wow, I didn't know there was a chapter six!

Hahah, Wow, only now I found out about bio matter. I have one last bio matter and one last kytri crystal to find. Thing is I don't understand where Cardinal Crossing is... I'm using the hints page you had...

Aww I beat it so I could see the bad ending first!!!! I still want to see the good ending though... So I need some help with the very last biomatter and crystals... I only have one of each left to collect...

Took me a while to figure out how to even defeat the last boss... Pretty cool though... The second stage was the hardest with the legs and the eye that shoots stuff...

Anyway, can anyone tell me where cardinal cross is? The walkthrough says thats where the last biomatter I'm looking for is... I thought it was that place east of Northwest village where the lakes cross and is near that big bridge, but I can't find any biomatter there... That image that Creator135 or whatever his name was is down, and I think it would be very helpful...

There are also two places I never figured out. In dungeon 1 what's up with that little room to the side with the stairs going down. There appears to be no way to get there because I'm walking through a hall, from left to up back into the room with the ice thing that freezes you. And off to the side there's that little room.... Also what's with the secret rock thing that I can blow up with explosives in the room with 3 block puzzles. It just leads me to some outcropping where there are 3 of those badguy nest things...

And another thing I haven't figured out is how to get to that chest in the left hand path to get the second pedestal crystal(not kytri). There's this chest on a little island across the black void.


Oh, and I also noticed another chest west or something from the entrance into the pyramid. I don't think I ever was able to get up there. And is there a way to get into the little building in NSV that's at the very bottom on that island?

This little piece of information should help you. When you are hidden from the guards your icon shows in the bottom left if I remember correctly. If I am wrong then you'll just have to learn which spots are safe.

I don't have a walkthrough... There's a little hint section on this post that helped me find certain items I needed...

The link is on page one titled "I need help finding items for a trading sequence" or something like that. It also tells you kytri crystal locations and biomatter which I only found out about right before I was gonna fight the final boss, LOL... It's the stuff that goes into the museum in the first village and as a gift you get money puches that increase how much money you can hold which would have been very useful before!!!! Heh...

Another quick question- I got an updated version from my last one (i think) and I wondered if saves were cross-version. Can I send my old save over?

EDIT: RAWR. How the heck do I get through the place after you put in the radio transmitter? I've made it to the pyramid that shoots bloody murder, through the dungeon (I think it's the pyramid boss).
