Great game!

Nice and challenging, although you really need to have more save points (EG: before the boss in Dungeon 1!) also some things that sort-of anoyed me:

• Player didn't "snap" (he moved freely)
• Not enough save points
• You have to be below most characters to talk to them.

Well done! I'm not interested in the whole future rpg thing going on so I kind of lost interest. But this rpg is awesome. Takes a while to figure out everything, but I got up to when I awoke. I'd give this game a nice 10/10! I found no problems with the game, graphics were up to par, sounds were amazing, collision detection on the dot, and story telling is perfect.

Great rpg! Can't wait till the sequel!

Are you sure you don't want to play on? If all you did was wake up, there's so much left out there to kill.....or be killed by?



Player snapping is a design choice. Since so many enemies attack with randomised patterns and angles, radii, distances and so on (which means a lot of very un-rounded numbers), having the player move only within 16x16 would have been impossible. That, and imagine driving the boat with grid snapping.

Save points are a difficult thing to judge - a few people have said there are too many, although you're right in that there are a couple of key locations which could probably have done with an extra save. I suppose the strategy is to save as often as possible. If you do this, the D1 boss room is only 4 rooms away from the nearest save.

NPC talking is probably the largest glaring fault I couldn't fix. It does take people a bit of time to get used to it, and it reflects the fact that I should have thought of a few things (such as "depth=-y", inheritance, the use of masks) before I'd done things a different way. I changed a lot after 'release', but I doubt NPCs will ever be improved - it's not a key area like the title cutscene or save interface; I guess it's just a bit counter-intuitive. Next time, though...

don't worry people, he has a good fast host for his game. 20MB isn't too bad for an RPG. As long as 19.999999MB of it isn't mp3s like people tend to do now-a-days.

BTW, great game, I started to play yesterday and I love it. Oh, and one more thing, I would make it so that, you know at the very begening when your in the ship and it tells you how to play in the top left corner, to change it from saying "Press P To Go To The Pause Menu" to "Press Esc To Go To The Pause Menu", becuase, unless I am wrong or somthing, when I pressed P nothing happened, but when I pressed Escape, it took me to a pause menu thing. Anyways, love the game, good work.

PS: I found a bug, but I don't know what it is, it just came up and said "An Un Expected Error Has Occured" and then the game shuts down, it was wierd, and it has done it two times, once on the ship, and once in the temple ruins, I think???Hmm

awesome!!! no glitches or anything but i couldn't figure out how to earn credits or find those crystals that the dude need for weapons. but it was still good i rate:

Very good game (I'm in the cave in the room with the 3 block puzzles) it eerily reminds me of zelda but for some reason this game is.... scary in a way. Landing on an alien planet, been out for 2 months, captain mysteriously disappears, guy praying to trade his kingdom for a biscuit (I think, LMAO anyway), I don't know why but this game seriously freaks me out while playing, but yeah for the reasons I listed above but it is awesome. The graphics were great, I didn't notice any glitches, the gameplay was good, the puzzles were hard, overall 9.5/10 (The last time I gave that rating was on Dim) and you know I must have been excited for getting this game, I downloaded it on dial-up

The battery's just part of the optional trading sequence - the map, however, is extremely useful. You might want to ask/look around the same place you got the map for some other things....



That one is solved by going:
- Right-hand tile
- Upper tile
- Bottom tile
- Left-hand tile

And yes, you can do whatever you like as regards reviews, walkthroughs, etc. I only own the game, after all.

There haven't been any bugs reported since the last upload, but a couple of things have been fixed (although not yet available, as usual) - firstly, the message box which displays in the dark maze room in Dungeon 3 has been moved back to normal position (it preiously displayed offset), and various changes have been made to the D4 boss and game boss in particular to try and save some of your framerates. Apologies to those of you who had to fight at 4FPS. Changes to some of the opening cutscene narrative and 'bad' endine dialogue have also been made, but that's nothing important.

This Game is just shy of perfection. My only complaints are only skin deep.

1-When changing screens, stuff gets doubled over, the character, the bar at the bottom...maybe the bar at the top, I can't remember.

2-Things aren't explained very well, in the story as well as in the game. This one is just a matter of oppinion, so bear with me here. As some others pointed out, at the begining things weren't very clear..like which gaurd was wich, and what the "Main Desk" was, but it wasn't all that hard to figure out. And when you beat the hellicopter this guy starts talking to you, and you don't even wanna ask him who he is!? lol. Maybe it's explained later on, i don't know. edit: it WAS explained later on, sorry :\

3-The graphics were a couple of grades behind the rest of the game. Now, when I say this, I'm still saying the graphics are great. But when compared to the gameplay, story, and music, they don't quite measure up.

4-There are a few minor bugs, and as I said before, this game is just shy of perfection.

Those are the only problems I had with the game. The gameplay is ROCK SOLID, especially when you have a game pad. The story line is very intruiging, and the opening scene was done INCREDIBLY well. The puzzles are challenging, but not impossible, and the music would be perfect, if it weren't for one or two songs that are overly repititious (But the rest are awesome )

This is, and you can quote me, lol, THE BEST GAME MAKER GAME I HAVE PLAYED. and that being said, it is also one of the best games I have ever played...no seriously heres my top five.

you guys dont know a game that rocks till it hits you in your face... if anyone can make a 3d megaman game version of megaman X with a good story line , all the 8 bosses and the final boss including a free walk system were you can travel anyware in this giant beutiful world at any time and buy upgrades then at the end have a complex battle action / rpg off mega man then ill agree that it was a great game... only if the boss is great too

best GM game i have ever(and most likely will ever) play

I occasionally skim through the Game Maker Creations forum looking for a nice little minigame to occupy some time. Especially when I tire of my other games.

I stumbled on to this, downloaded it, was taken aback at its size, and booted it up.

Consider me stunned. This level of polish and professional quality is seldom seen in here. Not only do you have a working game system, with solid gameplay and little-no clunkyness, but you have given it a certain sheen of quality.

It's obvious that you spent a lot of time and effort on this, and I wanna join in with the others in saying: It's payed off. You've got a real gem here, and you should be darn proud.

I'm really looking forward to devoting some real time to this. Keep up the excellent work!

Very good game. A couple glitches here and there but nothing to effect the gameplay. I especially loved the starting sequence. I can really tell you put a ton of work into this. You have inspired me man. Great work.

I think I might rewrite some of the dialogue cutscenes, though I don't know if it'll form part of a new version upload. You don't. Coffee is a one-time pickup in the game, like hearts in Zelda. The inventory box is only to provide information on it. The same goes for everything else - if you can use it, it'll give you the option. Otherwise, it's just for show. Don't forget the Directive box, too.

yes u can, u can put coffe in your flask, u need to use the Auto-vend high-pressure Coffee system HPC41002. There just vending machines in the walls of certain buildings.

I would just like to say that the game has been spread across my school, and links e-mailed to all my friends of this game! This game deserves the most attention of all the GM games on the site(well...RPG's at least!)

I've playd this game a few months ago and got stuck on the sea snake part, but I got a new computer and I just downloaded the new version and I cant figure out how to get past the place in the east with the snowstorm. Last time someone told me the directions but I cant remember them....
