I found another glitch.. T.T

I was on the trading quest minigame, and I got some broken glass. For no apparent reason, I went into the bigbuildinginthecenterofNSV and then suddenly the pre-finalboss cutscene plays! You know, the one you get when you go inside the final symbol in the cave.

After the cutscene, I'm suddenly at the final boss and I'm forced to quit without saving 'cause you can't save at the final boss. Now I have to redo all the trading again.. *sob*

This game is so entertaing! I cant beat it worth a cowpie, but still, good job! i just got past the helicompter boss thing, it took FOREVER

When I come to the bad samosian village, I can't move, but those turrets' explosions scoot me around. So I downloaded the replacement file, but it's still not working. Am I supposed to merge the replacement and the original somehow, or should I just re-download the full version?

How many points do you need to get the crystal in the NSV tower?

See, this is exactly why I need people to play the game. That ONLY happens if you go to that building straight after leaving ONE particular other one in the village. tongue.gif Fixed.

200. On the others you'll need to get some score on the hardest difficulty. N.B: In the mountain lodge, you want the top floor, not the ground floor.

Do you mean you died when your health reached -100?

I assume by '4th round' you mean the Electric Triangle Of Doom? tongue.gif If you stand inside it, you'll be safe from one of the boss's attacks, and also be able to shoot it. You'll see it move when you do, as you did. When you've hit it eight times (I think) the ring on the floor will disappear and you can run up to the boss's head and use your sword. Repeat a few times, as you have. If it's not dead after seven or eight actual hits (because it flashes you out of there anyway if he wakes up while you're too close - the triangle shou;ld speed up, look for it), then there's a problem. I think the boss works though, I'll test it tonight.

BG&E? The most obvious similarity I can think of is with the Flask boss and the DomZ serpents....but I never did reach the game boss. I'll see if I can find a picture of him...

Hey can anyone tell me where the missing kytri crystal is? I have 9 kytri crystals:

Srehpog, you said that the building south of NSV and the building left of the Mountain Lodge is a secret... In what way a secret? And can you give us at least a (perhaps cryptic) hint how we can reveal the secrets?
And how must we use the phone???

I've only played a little bit of this but it looks very good. I'm guessing you did all the artwork yourself? No wonder it took over 2 years!

It has a lot of nice little touches that make it "feel" like a classic Nintendo game.

What your looking for is biomatter. One piece has been reveled all ready in this post so I'll repeat it here. Head two screens north of the NSV village (screen with the bomb shop). There is a circle of stones in the middle of the screen. Bomb them and then wave your sword over the gray discoloration in the the center of the stones to get your first piece. I'll leave finding the other 7 pieces to you. One thing though there is a bug that may prevent you from getting one piece. Srehpog knows about it, but I don't know if it's fixed in the current version.

No thats not the code for activating the belt machine. You'll be kicking yourself when you find out what it is.
C-Ator9
Srehpog, you shouldn't set the resolution to 640×480, because when my screensaver appears and I want to continue playing, the screen is black. Also it is better to make screenshots when the game is set to window-size.

Also at the final boss, there doesn't appear a blue triangle as you mentioned, however it does appear for 1/3 of a second... after I go back from the pause-screen to the fight. Also in that same round the fps is 4!!!! How is this possible, Srehpog? (While the slowest moments in the game where 12 fps...)

A few other similarities: the final boss looks a bit the same (but you said you never reached it, what a coinsedence!), the collecting of pearls/kytri crystals, the sneaking in the lighttower and... The factory boss is a goop that can possess material: intent can also possess material...

Do you already have found out how I become invincible?

And as mentioned before by somebody else: at the shooting minigame in the NSV-tower I reached a maximum of 235, and guess what... no kytri crystal.

I can't really have a final version in anything other than 640 though. You don't expect to alt-tab console games, so this should be the same. It's just too small in windowed mode, especially on big resolutions.

The drawing event involved in making the triangle appear used to be dependent on FPS. I didn't think the whole battle would run at <15... 12 is certainy VERY low. He's just a resource-hungry boss. I've removed a lot of graphical fancy stuff since he was coded, but it seems to run slowly in there on some machines anyway. I'll debug it with an object count...

I found the ending in the DomZ fortress too boring and green. I never reached the end boss. The collection of an item is central to nearly every adventure game - in BG&E they're compulsory, in Ark they are not. It's like heart pieces in Zelda. The lighthouse stealth section is small and mostly because I just really wanted a useless stealth section. tongue.gif Most of BG&E is stealthing. And wasn't the factory boss more of a monster than a general....thing? Intent is so much more than just 'goop'..... tongue.gif

The place to enter the 1800 number is the mansion in the north. There's a table on the ground floor of the mansion with an old phone on it.

There's a FAQ for the first dungeon in this topic. There's a link to it in the very first post.

Alright, sorry for the lack of updates - I've been sent a big list of about 20 bugs, almost all of which are fixed now, so there'll be a (hopefully) near-perfect version available soon. I just need to find out why that last crystal isn't working...

Sorry, it's on Page 9. Link fixed.

The next version will be non-resolution-changing, for ease of use. Once I've gone through a list of suggestions which have been sent to me (and are therefore quite complicated), I'll upload an update. That should be it for bugs at the moment, though.

Now that I think about it....are you sure about the NWV background moving? I can't see it. Can you provide a screenshot for exactly where you mean?

Well, look at this: .

This is an amazing game!!! I have been playing for 5 hours and I just got bombs. I did find a "bug" though:

The "boat" appears randomly in rooms when you left the boat someplace else.

That really isn't big either, and I don't know if it has been mentioned before. (I am not reading through 16 pages).

AMAZING,

Is true.

And in the room where you randomly pick a treasure chest you can go through the back wall, and I got an error when I got the boat and went to the COFFEE machine and left the screen by land and came back, somthing about error creating boatfollow (somthing like that).

Good game but it really sux to play it and loose an hour of playing time by getting an error.

Have you given any thoughts to a sequal? smile.gif

Found a very strange bug...but I am not sure if it affects gameplay or not. I got the bombs, went down and defeated the funny turrets, went up and saved again.

When I load this save game, It says that there is something I still need to do in that dungeon, but it reset and the moving statues arent present anymore.

Do you mean the hut in New Samosa with a 3-Chest game? I can't find any holes in the wall there...

If there's ever another chapter in the whole Ark/Samosa story, it would probably be a mouse-and-arrows 3rdP shooter, but I doubt I'll ever do that. There is one other project being worked on at the moment, but it's not far along enough, and far too special to release so soon after Ark. When Ark's properly finished and debugged, you'll see.

As for the update - it should be available soon. For those who don't want to wait...

Getting the last Crystal (and the extraordinary reward):

Open your save file in Notepad and edit the 60th line (counting any blank lines too) from:

1.000...

to

0.000...

This will allow you to replay either the NSV watchtower shooting gallery OR the NW village quick-draw arena and get the crystal there. This should bring your total up to 10, and allow you to get....something VERY special.

Has anyone with all the fossils been to the museum yet? You get something good there too...

Strange, the 61st line says already 0.000... Yes, I counted again, and again: the 61st line is already saying 0.000... so what now? I tried to make the 60st line 0.000 and still no 10th kytri crystal sad.gif !
And yes, I am very sure I did it all right!!
I'll send you my savefile...
BTW let me guess: that extraordinary reward is an upgrade for my rifle?

Yes, I have... But I don't really need it that much tongue.gif

Sorry, it looks like it should be the 60th line instead. It's the one right after the string'd number/blank line.

What did you think of the questionnaire - is your commission rate high or low? It's not random, you know. tongue.gif
Flash
Bug I notices (dont know if its fixed):

Somewhere north of the big town, there's a crack in the walls, possibly a cave entrance or summat. When I got the bombs and cracked it, I walked inside it, and then I was walking through the walls...
