I just killed that hele-chopper and some swordsman stopped and asked me why i wont die, please tell me what to do next...... I been walking around everyware and found nothing but dead ends.....I want to make it to the main boss or adleast the next temple, do i have to go threw the snow storm?

You need to use either all numbers, or all numbers and "-"'s. That should work...

No, when you use a save station, you get the data from the first save [i.e. Chapter 1] even if it's like Chapter 6 you're on.

It definitely is worth mentioning. I've fixed that one, but if you find any others, please note exactly where they are every time so I can fix thme straight away. Also, save displays have been fixed.

Do you remember pressing or doing anything unusual before using the elevator? I've tried it a couple of times and as far as I can see, if after the cutscene you walk over to the switch, press it, then walk into the door you should be fine in the next room. No?

Yep. But first you need to find some directions to get through it. Try the small raised but on the left bank of the river as you go North towards the mountains.

Fixed. Object inheritance error there... That can only happen if you kill the blue one after the red one but in the wrong order. Go green-red-yellow-blue.

...but you'd be much better off using a text-display system than show_message, and bear in mind that's GML5.0, so 6 and above is probably different.

I need to know what people think of the fourth dungeon. I thought it was supposed to be challenging but apparently those who have got through it finished it without once asking for help. This is not good. tongue.gif

As a special bonus prize, we have the Ark22 Super Duper Concept Art Extravaganza Party Competition, such that the first FIVE people to splat the game boss and send proof to me will get a nice shiny (i.e. printed on photo-paper) piece of concept art through the post. (Note: 'proof' counts as a screenshot of the boss room without the boss in and the exit teleport visible)

Finally! A decent, well thought out game made with game maker! You did use a lot of zelda bases, but other than that it was very original and well done, I commend you on a job well done!

Well, here's a neat one!
if you ride in your boat to the screen with the lighthouse on it, right below the house with the guy that you need 4 bombs for, ride into the cliff on the left. You'll see.

arao... I think Sreh means that you give him your address and he posts it. I wouldn't trust anyone with my address, and i think that most people agree with me. I don't think that the "Ark22 Super Duper Concept Art Extravaganza Party Competition" will be very successfull. Maybe sending it to us through e-mail?

This game has taken ages to download, I hope it's worth it...

This is ridiculous. After ages of downloading, and after the loading screen loading, i get an "unexpected error occurred while running the game". How can I fix this?

It happens to me when i close the lid of my laptop but...yeah...maybe sreh can help...

ah well...off to work on that walkthrough...fun...i can't wait to do the 3rd dungeon again...uggh...

another MAJOR glitch- after beating the final boss, the file is unloadable. when you load the file, it goes to a black screen with the main music playing, and doesn't go anywhere after that. what to do?

what's the house to the left of the lodge for?

Wow! Awesome game! Its depressing because now I see how bad my RPG is compared to yours... oh well. You'll have to play mine when I'm done... in a year or two...

Err to me that was probably one of the most stupidest things you could have done. Now everybody can see the final screen with just a click of the button. Also anyone can save it and send it in. Doesn't this mean that you've sort of ruined the competition.

@Srehpog: I downloaded this a while ago, probably when it first came out in the Creations forum but I never got a chance to reply. I like the game and I give it 10/10. Hope to be seeing some more excellent games from you.

P.S: I'm nowhere near finished yet, may take me a while tongue.gif

A couple of errors (more like 1). In the third dungeon, there is a teleporter that, when returned to, puts you inside a wall.

So, I'm still wondering, how do you get up on the ledge to the one teleport. You know, the ledge with a dark and lumpy floor that has a teleporter on it.

Yeah, that's fair enough. I was going to print in on fancy shiny photo-paper and stuff but, since it's also a bit tricky to ensure people don't just copy your image, it might be best I had a rethink...

Has anyone found all the Kytri stones yet? I have found 7/10.

I have found all the biomatter and finished the tradeing thing, so the stones are the only thing I have left to so besides beat the game.

I think there is one stone in the first level in the room with the three block puzzles. There is a bombable wall in the north part of the room after the first block puzzle. Unfortunatly, (and i think someone has metioned this before) when I come back to the three block room with bombs the electric fields are active and blocking me. This is also bad because there is piece of biomatter in past this room that if you didn't get it before you cant get it now. sad.gif Lucky me I got it already. whistle.gif

Nice work though. A little polish and you've got something. I'll point out some bugs and oddites later...

I am stuck at chapter 4: the Commander went to New Samosa and the large building in the middle is now accessible... but now I don't know what to do...

That's really great. biggrin.gif Well done. And yes, that dungeon room isn't supposed to do that at all. I'll fix it.

Creator135, that image actually covers four items in total. You get four different music disks during the sequence so it's not clear where that one has to go. To move on in the game, go into the large middle building and watch the cutscene (the cutscene does launch, right?) and then go to the NW village and find Daska south of the village itself.

The first bug there is now fixed, and the second, I'm SURE I saved....yeah. Didn't upload yet though. Time is ripe for an update...

Well I beat the game. Nice ending. Still looking for those crystals though.

I think I may have found another...

Unfortunaly, its in a location I can seem to reach. if you head right one screen from the bomb shop there is a chest on the hill. Seeing as how most of the kytri are in chests so far I figure that has to be one. While it looks like you can get to the chest by a screen to the right I can't seem to find that screen.

As for the last Kytri crystal I'm not sure. I think someone on this board said they had 8/10 crystals. Maybe they can tell me where I might locate the one I'm missing.

Anyway since your updating I'll give a list of bugs I've found. The first I noticed in Level 3. In the room with the switches that "turn off the floor" You can keep going right until you walk off the screen. This isn't the only place either. In level 2 (in the first part where you fight the stone monster with two axes) you can go to the top of the room and go either left or right and walk off into space. Third time I've had this happen was was to the right of the Northwest village (one screen from the rightmost defensive turrent). Shoot the pillar and cross the river then get south of the guy at the top of the stairs. As before you can go off the screen, but the interesting thing is using this bug you can walk on water! lmaosmiley.gif Also, in the same screen as above, try heading south. The screen will cycle to itself.

Next bug is in level three. From the entrance head up two screens, navgate the block maze, then head south two screens, and you'll be at the teleporter that brings you to the southwest part of the desert room (You'll need to have completed the level first to use these directions and you'll need the SAT braclet anyway). Once your in the desert try teleporting back using said teleporter. You'll be teleported onto a wall!!! Whats worse is that you can't use the SAT braclet because your in the level. What's even more fun about this bug is if you blow a mine up at your feet you'll be (you guessed it) out walking in space. This is unfortunate because this level is the only place (that I know of) where you can get the supreme blend of Samosa coffee for your flask, but you can't leave with it because of the bug. I think a good place for another such dispenser of the Supreme blend would be in the center building of New Samosa. That way it isn't avalible till late game.

Anyway, speaking of that building I was on my way there after level 3 when I stopped by the architech's place and got this error.

What's in there and how can I get there?

You could try going in the building but I assume you have done that. After going in the building head back to the northwest village and go just south of there (the area with the large pit). Then go southeast and you should find level 4.

As for the trade sequence, there are actually four different copies of the Samosa Orcestra music (Versions 1,2,3,4) which you have to trade. I'll assume you have the first (version 2). Go to the Lighthouse village and enter the building with the save station and talk to the guy in the lower left corner.

If anyone would like to have a walkthrough of the where the biomatter is and how to do the trade sequence just ask. I'm putting one together now.

And if I every get all the Kytri crystals I'll include that too.

More errors and fun tricks.

Got this error while fighting for the rifle and died.

ERROR in
action number 1

If you go to the shack with all the junk in it and try to take a dip in the nearby pool of water you can walk on water.

The save station displays Chapter 1,2,3 for save slots 1,2,3 respectively instead of the current chapter your on.

On my way to level four upon entering the screen I got stuck on the a rock in the Northwest corner.

After you navigate the maze that is the third part of level 2 and your engine is unclogged you go to a room with two chests. One has coffee the other has 200 credits. If you get the 200 credits then go back south one room the go back to the chest room the chests reset. This means You can will your wallet with up to 5000 credits if you got the big wallet!!! lmaosmiley.gif People are going to hate me for reveiling this bug. Well if Sreh fixes it. wink1.gif

So far so good. 8/8 biomatter. Full trade route. 7/10 Kytri. Four bomb placement. AWC-400 upgrade. The Flask. I imagine the rifle is upgraded by the Kytri crystals...

There is a possibility of two capacity upgrades for bombs and rifle ammo. I'm testing this out now.

edit: While testing the weapon capacity upgrades, I found, (you guessed it) another bug!!! Man I seem to attract these things.


edit again: Dear Ark22 fans,

I am very sorry, but there are in fact 3 upgrades for both rifle and bombs. Do not worry. I know where the upgrades are and all shall be reveiled once the walkthrough is put together. Of course you could just find the upgrades.

Tryagain and again and again and again... etc.


I'll try and protect the secertcy of the upgrades for now but they do exist. tongue.gif

Anyway after getting the bomb upgrade #1 if you go to get bomb upgrade #2 the showmessage dialog won't engage, however; if you go and get upgrade #2 instead of #1 you can bypass the #1 upgrade and get the #2. This makes the dialog off getting #1 after you get #2 make no sense.

Also I think it best if the two #2 upgrades were in the same place Sreh, but that's just my opinion.

I'll PM you with the finished notepad when it's done.

I know this is a really stupid question...Where do you decode the disc at the very start of the game? I can't find the main desk. The elevator doesn't work either...Do I have to use that? If so, can you tell me how to work it because Enter doesn't work...

Wow love the game im trying to resist looking at the walkthrough but this is pretty hard its those dam puzzles where you have to arrange the blocks that really annoy me grrr... Oh well 10/10 good work..

Are you absolutely sure? After defeating the third dungeon, you exit and watch another cutscene, then an NPC runs past towards NSV. If you go to the building in the middle of NSV, you get a live cutscene (with speech bubbles and stuff), no? If not, did you do anything between finishing the dungeon and going to the building? Can anyone else confirm this?

Nope. That chest is.....not a Kytri.

Fixed. The variable itself increases without telling you, you see. If you have all the fossils, go to the desk in the middle of the top of the library. Open a bank account! biggrin.gif

What a long post... I have work to do, it seems. Any bugs you mentioned which I didn't reply to here have been fixed. I just ran out of quote tags I was allowed to use, apparently.

I'll update this as I fix stuff.

Nice game but it really lacks color in the graphics which brings down the gameplay a bit. 7/10

Are you absolutely sure? After defeating the third dungeon, you exit and watch another cutscene, then an NPC runs past towards NSV. I LOVE this game. Also, playing the beginning over, since I deleted the game the first time (so stupid), I noticed that you spelled I'd as I"d, no biggy really. But I'm in love with this game. 10/10 10 times over.

Well, as I said I started overnew and guess what... I finished the dungeon of illusions etc, watched a cutscene with Piraeus, then a guy runs past (not his entire journey to NSV) (Srehpog said '...then an NPC runs past towards NSV.') Went to the commanders room (but he wasn't there), went to NSV, entered the building in the middle and... no cutscene!!!
Am I the only one with this problem? I don't like this sad.gif sad.gif ...
BTW the eight kytri crystal could be either in the maze in the darkness (dungeon of illusions), or in the desert...

That's what you did. Daska & Co.'s control room messes things up. You can either download the new version or edit your save file so the first value reads 4.00..etc. (and is as long as all the other lines - no longer!). And no, there are no fake walls. Fake chests though....

There are a couple in Dungeon 1 you might have missed, particularly in the first block-puzzle room. In Dungeon 3, there's one in the dark maze as Creator135 says, or in the desert room.

Just downloaded the new release and tried to get to the bombable wall in the second block room via my saved game...

No dice the fields are still up. Sigh...

I decided to start a new game to test if it was something in the saved game file.
I went to level 1 and solved the three block puzzles then left the room and came back in by the exit. Fields were off. I left and came back in via the entrance to the room. Fields were off. Then I went and circled around back to the room the way any person would. Fields were back on!!! wacko.gif

Oi!

So far though everything I pointed out before is fixed. Save this.

Aha, fixed. It's a =1 check instead of a >0. That route doesn't lead to a crystal anyway. If you tell me which ones you already have, I might know where you're missing some.

Hurrah, finally worked. This time I got a cutscene when I went in the control room. Finished that hellish dungeon (I personally thought there was way too much combat and bosses -- I would've probably never tried the last part again if I died even once there -- but each to his own =p). Nice dark/light effect though!

Now at the symbol-hunting part; do I have a lot more to go?

P.S. There's a symbol south of NSV (with the snakes in the dark). I used up all my rifle ammo when I finished that one, so when I went back to the overworld, I was stuck; I couldn't shoot down the pillar there. Maybe you'd want to put some of those little grey bugs at that area.

edit: stupid me, completely forgot about the bracelet. xD

SPOLIERS!!!!!!

1. One screen west of the North Mansion (the big house with the cell phone).

2. The one in the first block room in level 1.

3. The one in the cave on the island in the lake.

4. The one behind the bombable rocks in level 1.

5. The one in the desert room in level 3.

6. The one in the "spotlight room" in level 3.

7. The one to the east of that small hut in the northwest village.

Hmm... I'm betting that there located in levels 2 and 4 since I haven't gotten any there yet.

Yeah, I beat the game. Wonderful story, what with the climax and all. The final boss was also amazing: pretty smart moves it has up its sleeve. The final phase was a bit too long, though. But the ending is quite good.

I completed very few of the optional tasks: just wondering, would we get a different ending if we completed all the trading and found all the kytri crystals. I dunno why, but that ending sounds like the 'bad' ending. xp

All in all, yeah, you're right, this is a long, fun game. Probably the longest GM game I've seen so far: WAY more than six hours!

No, no, you're right - ammo should always be available. I generally try to put grey blobs near pillars, but occasionally something gets missed. Fixed.

I probably should have put something there, but D1 had enough crystals in it already. That wall leads you to the lowest section on the room above (the one with the bouncing grey traps, green enemy, and staircase on a high section.

And I think I know what's wrong with your crystals. Someone's not been playing their minigames! NSV watchtower, Mountain Lodge, Village 3 quick-draw arena! Go!

I'm glad you liked the ending and game boss. I was a bit worried that section wouldn't be too popular. Note that if you want to play any bosses again, just find their symbol. You can replay them as many times as you like.

And yes, that ending isn't the best possible outcome, you're right. tongue.gif I could have made it the only ending, but I though players had probably suffered enough cruelty by the Intent so far. If you want the good ending, you need to get....well, pretty much everything. Trade sequence, crystals, fossils, upgrades...

GMC, I need your opinion: Add a secret super-hard mode for replay value? tongue.gif
