I am happy to announce that Game Maker version 6.1 is now available from the Game Maker website.

Version 6.1 adds a number of new features, in particular a better installer, a simple explosion and special effects generator, drawing surfaces, and an improved image editor. Also a large number of small changes were made and many bugs have been corrected.

Version 6.1 is almost fully compatible with version 6.0. Only those using the particle system will have to make some changes. See the documentation for details.

Version 6.1 uses the same registration key as version 6.0. If you have a (legally) registered key on your machine the new version will automatically be registered. Please uninstall version 6.0 before installing version 6.1.
