Hey, I've just added all my background sprites for my room, and some of the sprites are fairly big and now my game is lagging redicuously slow. Is there a way around this to keep it from lagging. And I know there are anti-lagging codes, but can someone tell me a delta time code and tell me where to put the codes?
I've tried a couple before and they didn't work, but I may have been putting the code in the wrong places or something.

I kinda know how to make a scoring system, but probably not with the way I'd want to make it, and I don't know much GML. FIrst off, can someone tell me the simplest way to go about this using GML or D&D?......I want a clock in my room that where the faster you get to the finish line in the room the higher your score will be, just like in a racing game. the quicker you get to the end of the level, you score higher. And I want the score on the screen at the end of the level to count through the hundreds of numbers really fast and stop at the total score. Like it's tallying up all your points. Just for visual purposes.
If it's too much bs to explain it to me then don't worry about it, I'm sure I could figure out how through trial and error, but if someone knows a simple few lines of code and where to put them to get this to do that, it would be much appreciated and I will be happy to credit you on my game. Thanks.

Destroy one object but not all

Okay. I'm almost finished with the game I'm working on but I have a huge problem (maybe not for some), but I'm not very experienced with GML. I've always used drag & drop for the most part.
K....so I have all these blocks (all the same object) and I want them to crumble one by one as I walk across them. So HOW do I destroy one block without destroying ALL the blocks in the room?
I will give credit to you on my game for helping me with this....cause this is the last problem I am facing for this game (i think). Thanks.

Room Editor not scrolling?

I don't understand whats going on. I want to make my room larger and be able to scroll up and down so I can place more objects. But I'll resize my room larger and it won't let me navigate to other areas in the room editor. There's no scrolling bars. Does GM 8.1 not make it possible? if not, then how the hell am I supposed to make my game if I cant move around the room editor? Please help. If I can't get this figured out I'm going to have to bail on my game, cause Im sure it won't let me open my game in any older versions.
