Protecting resources

Has anyone come up with a good way to protect the resources used in your game? Right now a sprite/tile/background png sheet is made available in the html5game directory so anyone can grab them.

I was thinking maybe they could be included in the javascript obfuscated code or perhaps saved in a different format that is not as easy to just take and use?

Probably this isn't the best place but since YoYo is not working during the weekend (and so my support ticket is unattended) I have no other option but to ask here. I have tried to buy GM4HTML5 yesterday but after inserting all the details required to pay in Paypal as a guest, I got to the YoYo page and received that error, saying that I could try again as no money had been taken from my account (probably).

Well, I checked it and I don't see anything related to the purchase except for a 1$ Paypal fee. What does this mean?

Has this happened to anyone else?


P.S.:
I am asking it here because the promotion code ends soon (it says 27th September - but at what time and for which timezone?) and I don't want to miss on the opportunity.

Background_create_from_screen

Hi, I'm trying to create a background in my room creation code. I draw some things in the create event and then I use:

back1=background_create_from_screen(0,0,room_width,room_height,false,true,true);
background_index[0]=back1;

The window size is 512x544 and I have a view which is that size also. The room size varies but is bigger than this. The problem is, no matter the size of the room, the created background, which is displayed in the room, is always 512x544. According to my interpretation of the manual this shouldn't happen.

"Even though we speak about the screen, it is actually the drawing region that matters. The fact that there is a window on the screen and that the image might be scaled in this window does not matter."

GM6... Any ideas?

Possible Bug In Execute_string?

Hi guys, this code is inside the create event of my objTest:

// Declaring the variable using var
var obj;
i=0;
name='objTest';
execute_string('obj['+string(i)+']='+name);
show_message(string(obj[i]));

which returns this error:
ERROR in
action number 1
of Create Event
for object objTest:

In script script0:
Error in code at line 7:
show_message(string(obj[i]))

at position 22: Unknown variable obj


However, if the code has obj declared as a local variable and not a temporary one, no error occurs. Do you think this is a bug in execute_string()?

Error With Execute_shell

I'm not sure if this is supposed to be in the advanced forum, basically I'm using execute shell to open a website with the browser:

execute_shell("url here"," ");

And so far it has worked for most of the people I tried it with. However a friend of mine has tried it and it didn't work, instead it returned an error "Cannot execute *url*"

Anyone has any ideas of what may be causing it?
