alright, well I've noticed that my games size are taking it from my music. Because I make mp3s that are usually quite long (rpglike songs, not loops), they are decent in filesize. So I thought I'd load them externally for better quality and so I can split the d/l up a bit, or make music optional. However I was afraid people would think that because my music was included, they could take it. Now, I'm not trying to be paranoid or anything, but seeing how people rip parts of music and such around here, I woulndn't be surprised to see it in their games. I guess it's not that bad if I can't, but if I can why not? Anyways, I need some sort of way to I dunno ecrypt the music into a file or something. I play some games you buy at the store and you can't find their music laying around, and the exe isn't big enough to be holding 10 or so mp3s. So I know you can do it....somehow.
Help is appriciated. Thanks for reading

New Rmp Forum And Site
04 February 2005 - 09:10 PM
well, actually the site is my old site. Ok, first of all, everyone doesn't like phpnuke (and actually I kind of hate it too) so I decided to get my old html site back.
rmp site
NOTE: site has ads
and my new forum, is now invisionfree instead of forumer. The skin is pretty sweet (a bit hard to ready, I'll make my own skin when I learn how).
rmp forum?
Every week or so, I'll be making small mini games and such for d/l. The first ones are "free" (first 5). After that, you will need passwords from the forum that you see by joining (and for some you have to have certain amounts of posts). These d/l are more exlusive games like radical wailer (action platformer RPG), Mini monk (action platformer), Avalice: Cain's story (Isometric Turn based Strategy RPG), ect.
Note: if you don't join or whatever that's fine. Don't say rude things like "why should I join?" or "this SUCKS".

Anime/animated Cutscenes
27 January 2005 - 04:06 PM
Alright, once I get my scanner/printer working again (something with RPC and spooler...gah...help me)
I can start getting my animations into my games. What do you guys think of animated/anime cutscenes? NOTE: anime would be more..heh...animish. Animated would just be like animations....
Also, anyone have any tips? This is my first time using them in a game. What format should they be in?

Ripped Resources
24 January 2005 - 04:04 PM
Alright, I'm not going to start flaming people here so just calm down. heh. I don't see why people continue to use ripped gfx/music. I mean sound I can understand, if you listen to a lot of things, the same sounds are actually used...and not just for the same company. I mean sure we have fan games and such for fun (which take no skill to make other than programming, which is not much really) but when you use them for a real game, then it's wrong. Please stop. Learn to make your own graphics, find some tutorials, maybe I can help you...I'm sure people would rather see bad homemade graphics then mario sprite ripped. As for music, well that's a little understandable but still it's wrong. At least get anvil studios and make some weak midi, or get someone to make it for you. Ripping these resources ARE illegal. Thus, because of you being lazy, you are breaking the law. Also, when I see ripped resources, it lowers my respect for GM. In fact, I'm guessing 75% of all GM games have something ripped or not originally made. for all the new GMers, take this advice. If your first game has resource pack, ff6 sprites, and shining force 2 music on it, I'm sure it will not be very great. However, if you actually take the time to make the resources, it should be a great success.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but it's the right thing to do. Let's once again make GM an original gamemaking program instead of some fan game crap
. BTW, it's ok to use them as temp resources sometimes.
(BTW, you can tell I hate fan games with ripped resources...sorry, my opinion ^_~)
What are you guys' feelings on this?
Once again, sorry if this sounds like I'm trying to start some war. I just want newer GMers to not go down the road of ripping. It ruins potential.

.wav To .mp3
20 December 2004 - 01:26 AM
if you need a .wav converted to a .mp3, PM me. It doesn't matter how long it is ect.
I only convert .wav to .mp3. Not vise versa, not mp3 to midi, just wav to mp3.
