I would like to start on a space shoot-em-up that uses a scrolling 3D background using GM6. The view I plan on using is a bird's eye perspective. I've made scrolling shmups before but this is pretty different now that there's no use of backgrounds or tiles. I do not plan to use 3D models for objects, only interested in the scenery. I may consider adding collision detection to certain parts of the background (walls, pipes, etc.) but that can be experimented with later.
Would anyone have an example close to something like this or any suggestions on how to pull it off? Thanks in advance.
