If you have an idea for a tutorial (that does not exist) you are welcome to post, in this topic, a request for one.

Hopefully a kind soul will make one for you but there are no guarantees.

Only 4 kinds of posts are allowed here:

1) A "Tutorial request" post (to initiate the process)
2) A "Tutorial In Progress" post to inform you will make the tutorial requested
3) A "Tutorial completed" post to inform the tutorial is ready.
4) A "Tutorial Already Exists" post if the request made is for a tutorial already made

I know this is not GM related directly, but a lot of us have been using host-a, me for half a decade or more and recent events have plagued host-a so in a way this affected the community and so I will tell you what I know.
 
Many of you use the service and many of you have found tutorials or other (demos, engines  plugins) with dead hosta-a.net download links...
 
From my email with the founder (James),
 
Either the bandwidth allowed would not reset each month or was not calculated properly. I'm not privy to the details. (the bandwidths are now restored)
And host-a.net server having gone dead for 2 days.... (the servers are back online)

I had never been directly apart of the game maker community but I understand how online family communities work as an integral part of our lives
...

I'm in the process of creating more disaster recovery programs and scripts that will notify me if the site goes down. As always, we have redundant copies of all users data across 6 geographically dispersed hard drives which are synchronized daily

f you want, I would be willing to offer an email-only promo to you and your customer base. Offering more of storage monthly and bandwidth

It would be a very nice gesture about the storage and the bandwidth and surely that will raise the bar.

If you iron out the details (eligibility, hd size and bw size, etc), I can refer you some people that got affected.

I just found out today that MS new XBox will need to always be connected. So if your service goes down (Like mine would go down about 5 times a month) you cant play your games

In light of what happened today and in order to let off some steam (LOL) and I light of what happened to me today, like 10 minutes ago, I would like to ask if you got "Fished" today.

 

The term in my area for someone you got "April fooled"  or fish of the day.

 

So here, my snow guy calls me 10 minutes ago..

Phone rings. I pick up

-Hello?

 

Hey man, It's me, Marc!.

 

-Yeah, Mark, what's up?

 

Can you get me your neighbor downstairs? I don't have his number!.(he sounded nervous)

 

-Why, what's going on?

 

Well I should have called earlier but I forgot too. I was driving back from town by your place and I noticed his car has 2 flat tires. Can you go get him for me.

I have to get outside the house to get to the other apt.

Easter Egg Hunt Game

There are currently 3 Easter Eggs on the forum.

• You find an Easter Egg you can post your own. 
• You can plant as many Easter Eggs as you have found.
• You cannot post 2 eggs in a row

To win

• First to find 33 Easter Egg posted in the topic Wins the Eater Egg Hunter Medal
• Top Egg Layer gets the Crazzzy Bunny Medal
• Top Egg Finder gets the Silly Hound Dog Medal

When you find an egg

Post that you found an egg, you MUST have planted at least one egg to post that you planted an egg, your contribution in the game as a Player

As a non player you can post in the topic if you did not plant an egg, you are the wild post card that will allow the next player too play his next move.

• With a hint to the Found Easter Egg Name,
• a vague description of the Easter Egg content,
• and provide the assurance you posted an egg, a tip, a hint to find it (first post obligatory)
• You cannot annouce more than 1 laid egg in a post
• You cannot post twice in a row
• ​Comments about the game in the topic count as moves so you can announce another egg laid or found only after someone else commented.

 

You must ALSO send icuurd12b42 a message with

 

• the Easter Egg Post url you found
• the URL to your egg. If you added one. (obligatory in first message)
• the Name of your the Easter Egg (obligatory in first message)
• description of the Easter Egg (a funny site, a movie, nothing offensive, keep it pastel LOL)
• You may send me 2 messages one for when you find an egg one when you lay an egg so I can verify your egg count. 

Your Easter Eggs
Your Easter Eggs Must have similar spoiler structure to the Easter Egg You Find, content modified to your liking but the reference to the Easter Egg Hunt must remain thought reworded maybe to prevent searching for it.
 
Eater Egg Hunter Medal
Plan your egg announcements carefully if you want to get the 33rd Easter Egg
An egg announcement makes the game progress. If everyone stalls announcing eggs between 30th and 33rd egg I will publish all the eggs you sent me via email. First as number of egg existing, then adding hints to what to look for.
 
Crazzzy Bunny Medal
If you cant wind the Hunt, you can win the Crazzzy Bunny Medal for laying most eggs
 
Silly Hound Dog Medal
People may have laid more than the required 33 Easter Egg the game needs to win. find them all or find most, you win the prize
 
Egg Announcement
You may announce your egg laying in the post you announced your egg finding.
You can announce you found an egg separately
You can announce you laid an egg separately
 
I will post the number of eggs that exist on the site on a regular basis during the day.
The status of the game will change as I update the topic with the names, my input stack of messages will be tabulated and verified against your posts in the topic to make sure the rules are obeyed.
 
As the Game Progresses you will know from the new players how many eggs minimally exists, and know how many eggs there on the whole "deck" (which I hold)
 
The game starts March 31 but you can find the existing eggs and make your own and send me the email as if the game is running, in preparation, but no egg announcement will go in public view until the game starts.
 
 
Go ahead find the initial Eggs and get laying to win.
 
PS, don't be so obvious about your Easter Egg names as having Easter in it
