Here's a big shocker -- most games (or movies, music, books, etc.) are crap. Hits and gems are few and far between. Otherwise they wouldn't be hits. It's normal. And it's okay.

Someone did a Let's Play of the game, which is pretty cool.

THat would be very interesting and cool if he did make a living off of it.
Yup HP is a good develeoper. She makes her living off of her little rpg adventure games. Also MoaCube, I'm not sure if he makes his living off of it.
We're making a living out of it. At least for the last 1.5 year we did. If we can continue being full-time indie depends on how well Cinders (which comes out in a few days) does.
In Topic: Looking for a simple extension to play ogg files.

Hi, Tom from MoaCube here
.
The extension is really simple, so I'm surprised to hear you are having any trouble. Logic-wise it's very similar to the GM's built-in sound system, caster_load to load the file, caster_play to play it, caster_free to remove it from the memory. All functions are described in the help file and pretty self explanatory. If you want to alter volume of the sound while it's playing, caster_play returns a handle of the sample, that you can use for volume changing functions. Just using the handle of the loaded file works as well, but changes the volume of all samples of that file. Let me know if you have any more trouble
.
As for the dlls, Caster uses OpenAl, which is a very popular open sound library. It's used by the Mac OSX, so nothing additional is needed there, but not all Windows machines will have the files. We prefered to include them all rather than risk that something is missing. It doesn't really affect anything, and their filesize is miniscule, so don't worry about that.
