Retro Platform Shooter

I'm currently working on a retro-style run-and-gun game featuring a mercenary named Trigger. The game-play is reminiscent of Megaman, Metroid, Contra and similar games. After beating the boss of each level, the player gains a "powercore" which can be traded in for a new weapon of his or her choosing. I've already finished the basic engine and the starting weapon as well as lots of animated sprites and tiles. I am looking for an old-school gamer with level design know-how and good ideas for enemies. I'd also like a composer, ideally one who can make some sweet chiptunes-like songs. If you are interested, please IM me on yahoo <hey_look_its_matt> or MSN <kyne_is_guilty@yahoo.com> for more info. You can see some of my older sprites on my gallery here: http://heylookitsmat...rt.com/gallery/

Top Down Space Shooter Ai

26 May 2006 - 01:50 AM

Here's my AI example. Its pretty complex and took quite awhile, so I figured I'd give it other GM users to help them out. Let me know if you want to use it or would like me to tweak it for you. The stats are all customizable in the game, so you can try the system out with different player/enemy settings.

Spriter Looking For Work...

02 May 2006 - 08:43 AM

Hey, all. I'm a pixel pusher looking to push himself. I know how to conjur up some spiffy stuff with dinky programs like ms paint. Here is a link to some of my work:

Not much up yet... If you like what you see, give me a hollar. Naturally, there are only so many hours in the day, so I can't do everyones games. I'm just starting to try my hand at high res (the shooter pic) so maybe something like that would be cool. I'll probably just pick the one I like best and go start to finish on that before taking my next. Ideally, I'd like to join a team full time and make lots of pretty stuff for them to blow up in their creations. Hope to hear from you guys soon.

Zombie Art (help Needed

22 April 2006 - 11:07 PM

I have been trying as many resources as I could think of, so I'll try you guys too. I am working on a game now (duh.) The graphics being used will be top down shooter style depictions of zombies and ruined, post-apocalyptic city scape backgrounds (also, seen from above.)
I am perfectly capible of programming the game myself, but I need someone to make it look nice. The particle effects are coming along alright, but other than my special effects (flashlights, explosions, lazersights, etc.) the game is looking pretty ugly.
There is more to the game than just a typical zombie shooter, but I'll save details for anyone interested. Also, if you happen to be in the dallas area, that would be a big plus, but by no means a requirement. Hope to hear from someone soon.

PS: I can work in 3D or 2D, but I think 2D rendered is going to be our best bet.
