Small Physics question

Sooo here's the question.

I have a set distance by the variable dist and of course gravity at a constant grav pointing down in the positive direction, and an angle given by ang
I want to know at what vertical speed I should start moving at if I want to cover all of the distance.

Now I know this isn't a real physics problem because in gamemaker all gravity is, is a constant y-increment and has nothing to do with mass. So yeah if it helps to think in a pure physics manner mass = 1

Open-Source Instant Play

In the discussion to see where GM was heading in the future, I do remember them saying that they wouldn't abandon what is now called sandbox.  They stuck true to that, but they also said that they'd make InstantPlay open-source since they wouldn't have time to update the sandbox anymore.

If i'm not mistaken making something open-source is just putting out all of the source code so the public can do with it as they please right.  So what's holding them back from uploading everything to sourcefourge?

Alright, I've had zooming problems with GM for a WHILE now but nothing was ever this serious.  I've seen some more tiling errors in my newest game Lunar War as well appearing as soon as I got update 1.106.  I hope I posted this in the right topic and I hope this is fixed soon.  I believe in you guys over there working for Yoyo.

About Me
I'm a GM programmer who's main focus is building a technical background before i start any kind of really serious project, and this tends to result in many UNFINISHED games.  It sucks, and I'm really attached to all of the games I make so... here we go.

What I Need
  • Good understanding of tiles(How depth works etc...)
  • Some commitment (I Might need a lot of maps)
  • That's IT.

Self-Test
See if you can create the first map in my game Lunar war (This Tile) on your own without the use of objects and still maintaining good depth. (HINT: depth = -y)

Description:
The Tsukihime universe is one of my favorite places to be in the anime world. In my opinion, it's Type-Moon's greatest achievement. This game is a TBRPG which will be a host to many of the characters from that world. Right now, I only have Shiki Tohno but the system is ready to add more and more characters.
If you've never heard of Tsukihime I suggest you read the manga on mangafox or something. It's really good.

Download: It's sad but it seems InstantPlay is not compatible with GM8.1, however; GMArcade is.
