Lyssandra and the Amplegores

28 January 2013 - 03:44 PM

Posted Image

Quick Link to Game!

A lab accident has caused an outburst of Amplegores, a mutated species consisting entirely of their own blood. You're Lyssandra, aka "Dog". Get in the GunCycle and manage the population!

The game contains 30 different weapons with defining characteristics, such as the ability to burn, drown, electrocute or poison foes. You can choose to play two gamemodes. Arcade Mode gives you a full clip of any of the guns at random - when you empty it, you get a new one at random. Or Challenge Mode sees how good you are with individual weapons by giving you infinite of that and 1-5 star target kill counts. There is also an Arsenal where you can read up short descriptions on each of the weapons you've encountered.

Music is by dtrx creations, sound effects are from multiple royalty-free sources. Everything else - all programming, graphics, font work, design etc is by me.

Dynapogo (GMC Jam #08)

29 October 2012 - 12:00 PM

Posted Image

Synopsis
Created in around eight working hours for GMC Jam #8. Blow up the word with your dynamite-equipped pogo stick, and go for the longest distance you can before dying at the hands of the disaster-struck, lava-flooded, due-for-distruction city of... uh... Dynaster.

Notes
When the sun turns orange, it's a new best survival distance! Thank-you for being QA for this game, you are in the credits with the best distance noted! (sneaky handicap workaround :ninja:)

Controls
Use your mouse to point the pogo stick where you want to bounce. Click to add up to three levels of explosive power (resets to 1 each time you bounce off something).

If You Could Shape Your Next Life...

26 September 2012 - 10:33 PM

Say that, after you die, you wake up in a hub. In this hub is a massively advanced character creator, world builder, timeline plotter etc. What you are doing is choosing every aspect, or some aspects, of your next life. You will have no recollection of this hub at any point until your next death (if you do not choose to be immortal) and no memory of any of your past lives until you're back in the hub, everything you choose or select to be randomised will simply be the universe to you during this life. EXTRA NOTE: In the hub there is no concept of "time" and you have no concept of boredom/impatience, so you could literally predetermine every single day of your new life.

You can control every minute aspect of your life. Your species. Your gender. Your career. Every millisecond of how your life pans out. Where you live, everything about the world, or worlds. You could keep Earth, but choose a different time period. You could make up a new world. You could select a fictional world and turn it into your new life's reality. You can do anything you desire at all, no limitations in any form. You also have the option to randomise any or every aspect (eg you could give your next life specific interests/hobbies but not map anything out).

What would you do with it? What would be the life you choose for yourself? Who would you be? Where would you be? What would you be?

Opinions on others' choices also more than welcome.

NOTE This topic is for discussing what was described above. It is not a topic about whether you believe reincarnation is a thing, or not a thing, and it's nothing to do with theism or atheism.

Xporadic

Xporadic, a port of the Windows game of the same name, is a simple, free, advert-free bullet hell game for Android phones. Includes optimised mode for lower-end devices as well as a prettier normal mode that is more graphically intensive.

Completely free, just wanted to make something relatively small so I could make use of my developer license, as well as something YoYo Games were fine with me doing :)
