Looking for a 2D sprite artist...

09 August 2012 - 12:47 AM

Hey! I'm currently looking for a sprite artist to help out with my upcoming, untitled game. This new game will feature procedurally generated caves that you'll be exploring and searching for treasure which will contain various cosmetic items. The further into the cave you survive, the more rare your finds become! Here's a few screenshots of the type of levels the generator will be creating:

If you'd like to see a sample of my work, check out the thread for ORCSLAYER2000, another current project of mine.

If you decide to come on board, you would be the only pixel artist and I am giving you COMPLETE creative control--that means make the characters look like whatever you want, choose the style, whatever. The only dimensions I'll be giving you are the sizes. You would obviously be credited in the game heavily.

If you're interested, just post here or e-mail me at fabioisonfire@gmail.com. Any sample work you can provide is awesome. Thanks!

Looking for a sound effects/music artist

01 August 2012 - 01:07 AM

Hi everyone. I'm currently looking for someone to create the sound effects and music for my game, ORCSLAYER2000. (Link included directs to GMC thread, or you can find the 64Digits game submission here.)

What I had in mind for the sound design would be similar to the graphical style of the game--very simple. Aside from that, I'm leaving complete creative control to you. I'd need two tracks (one menu, one for arcade gameplay) and an assortment of sound effects including things like a sword/knife swinging, blood, and magic spell sounds.

I can't offer any monetary payment. The only thing I can give to you is a credit in the eventual section of the game, my undying gratitude, and the experience provided. If you're interested, post here or shoot me a private message and I can provide more information. Any sample work is nice.

Thank you and I look forward to working with you!

A little video of a hotseat co-op game I started.

31 October 2011 - 10:54 PM

Hey everyone. I started work on a hosteat co-op game this morning, and I wanted to show off a little of what I did this morning and see if there is any interest in the idea. The basic premise is a hotseat co-op platforming title with a heavy focus on user-generated content created via the in-game (easy to use) level editor.

Here are two videos, one with me discussing the idea and one without, playing a bit more with the level editor.

Second video, no sound, playing with level editor more.

And a sketch of last night, when I was inspired to start this idea.

A call to spriters...

29 October 2011 - 08:37 PM

I've got a game on my plate right now that I'm pretty excited about. The basic idea is this: traverse randomly generated labyrinth-esque dungeons, throw in a level editor and cool lighting, and viola--new game.

Anyway, I've got the groundwork laid down (random dungeons, level editor is in place) and I've been spriting everything on my own so far. Everything looks pretty good, and I think I've done an alright job thus far, but who am I kidding? I'm no sprite artist.

Here is the look I have so far:

Now, as you can see--our hero is a white block. This is because no matter how many attempts I make, I cannot create a good looking character sprite. So this is where the talented spriters of the GMC come into play. I need help with a hero.

No guidelines whatsoever--he doesn't even need to be human, or even a he. All I ask is that it be around 20p x 20p (anything under that is fine) and kept around the same-ish style that I have so far. Aside from that, go hog wild. All I need is walking animations and idle sprites.

I can't offer much besides full credit in the game and my undying gratitude. If you're interested, post here or send me a private message. Thanks!
