Symbol Designer Workshop

Hey guys!

here's the thing:

I'm making this shooter game (horror/suspance type)

I've got the main engine ready. and already coded the basic enemy A.I.
Got 5 fully working weapons and movement and control is ready as well.

Now I was starting on level design.

but last week, when I was chilling at youtube, I came across a Halo3 multiplayer movie and an idea struck me.

I want to make my game be a single player game, but also have a multyplayer side to it, just like Halo.

So I went on. Started coding some basic online data transfer and dead reckoning parts for the multyplayer and everything is going awesome so far.

But I come across a problem. In a multyplayer game all players need to be diferent in some way so you can see diferences between enemies.
So I added personalized naming, this way you could see players names everytime you roled the mouse over the enemy player.

BUT that looked too plain... so I said "yeah since it's so much based off halo I could use another idea from it. SYMBOLS. this way players would have a simbol for themselves with personalized colors that would apear over their heads at the same time as the names when they got aimed at.

and then I thought, maybe the guys at GMC could be a helpfull hand, they've got some neat ideas. and here I am.

So yeh I made a mockup of an example of what a simbol could look like in the game.

so yeh, the sizes for the simbol should be 20x20 for them to be the right size.

They can be anything, just keep in mind what would you fancy yourself having over your head in a deathmatch :D

anyway I'll put anyone who helps out in the credits of course.
and I'll be checking this thread everyday, so keep symbols coming in! I need around 20.

it shouldn't take too long to make a nice looking symbol! so give it a try!!

Fill In The Templates!

Yo guys, so yeah here is a template of the character of the game:

now all you gotta do is think up what head and hairstyles you would like to see on the character and fill in the template, also the torso and legs need filling!

It's a 8 direction character, so you can have an idea.

it's seperated by pieces, head, torso and legs so the player can change those seperatly so he choses what apearance he likes best.

What is needed:

-about 10 hair styles (and recoulors if you can).
-about 15 diferent colored Torsos.
-and about 15 diferent coulored Legs.
-(please don't keep the character's black outlines)(the only thing left real black is the boxes around them.).
-about 3 diferent skinn coulors.
-(no face components «eyes, mouths noses» shall be aded. just leave the face plain)
-use any colors you like.
-you can shange the shape a bit if you like, just make some cool armour pieces and hairstyles!


This is for a medieval battle game, so don't make anything not suitable to that timeline.

Now, let your mind fly and give it a go! :)
Even if it's crap I will keep it and make some adjustments as needed.

I would fill them in myself, but it would get repetitive and more people working on these is better than jus one. and more, I'm working on the game's engine and all that I am left with not time for these graphics, so please be kind and give me a helping hand! :D

Blacksmith Needed!

Ok, I'm making a game where you can pick up lots of various weaponry.

I'd like some more weapons than the ones I got, so I'd like you guys to help me out!

here's what I got so far:

the little man there is a Random generated character of my game. base the sizes of the weapons comparing to the character. (don't make weapons too big or he'll not be able to handle them, don't make them to smal or he won't be able to see them :P)

NOTE:
Now I'm also requesting Enemies!!!! here's what I got so far:

I need you to make some enemies, USE YOUR IMAGINATION! be creative! and don't make something off the style!
All enemies have to be drawn with their limbs and head(s) seperate from the body just like the characters! :) Good Luck!

Weaponry Request

ok, this is simple enough.

I'm making a side-view platformer where you can chose to be a Magician, an Assassin, a Ranger or a Warrior.

Each of these can find new weapons and use them through out the game.

now comes the part you come in.

WEapons drawn by you.

these are the defaults I have:

Fire Wand (magician)
Long Sword and Shield (warrior)
Dagger (Assassin)
Bow (Ranger)

all weapons should be drawn in a horizontal position facing -------->

use your creativity.

make fire swords, whatever you want, really.

sizes... between 10X15 and 10X40

ok

here's what I want:

I'm making a game where you control several classes of characters (Rangers, Warriors, Assassins etc.)
I've got all of them done, and ready, BUT I'm using colored squares for the sprites, now I need sprites to replace those and make the game look nice.

I need special efects sprites for the magician:

-I need a 17X17 fireball that looks cool.
- Need A Spritesheet of a healing spell animation.
- Need some nicely colored orbs. (small size) (from 10X10 to 15X15)
- Need smoke particles.

and if someone could get me a sprite sheet of a blood spray splatter it would be awesome!

This game is a side view Platformer.

so get to work! :)
