Operation Extirpate - Update V1.2

24 June 2006 - 06:12 PM

UPDATE v1.2!

This is a platform shooter that utilizes GMPhysics made my coderchris, which allows real-looking physics in a Gamemaker game. With GMPhyics enemies have ragdoll deaths, rather than just an animated death sequence that is the same all the time.

Story:
The game is based during WWII, in which you are an elite solider in the US Army. The story begins on June 4, 1944 in which Operation Overlord (D-Day) has just begun. You have been sent behind enemy lines to destroy a bridge allowing a direct path between the beachheads at Normandy and the 12th SS Panzer Division.

Currently the game is quite short, but I allowed the player to restart the level if he wants to go through that level again.

Updates v1.2
-Added 'Options' to the menu
-Added 'OK' buttons to windows such as Help, Credits, etc.
-Added HUD
-Added new detection system:

a. Shows player how aware the closest enemy is of him.
b. Takes gunshots, distance from player and grenades into account
-Added execution system:
a. Players can sneak up to enemies facing away from them and enter a phrase into a dialog box. That phrase is then said by the player to the enemy just before you are able to quickly shoot him in the head for an instant kill.
-Helmets that are shot off can now be shot while in the air
-Pressing 'G' now switches between American grenades, and German
-You can now shoot grenades, first shot propels the grenade, the second triggers the explosion.
-Each gun's bullets now vary in distance it travels, so pistols will now travel as far as rifles, etc.
-Cursor image shows whether the bullets of the gun can reach where the mouse is pointed.
-Dead bodies can now be shot, bullet holes do not appear but you can see the body move from the bullets.
-A shotgun was added to the list of weapons that will be created (Winchester Model 1897).

Still To Come:
-More weapons such as:

-More enemies
-More scenery such as trees, bushs & buildings
-Enemies will be doing activities while unaware of your presence, such as reading a newspaper etc.

If anyone is interested in helping with sprites, please PM me on the forums, right now I'm doing all the sprites and I'm not very good...

Please comment and let me know of any bugs.

World War 2 Plane

31 May 2006 - 12:57 AM

I'm not very good at graphics at all and I was hoping someone could fill in the details of a WWII German Stuka. I've outlined the desired shape of the aircraft:

The outline is based on this: Stuka
But I'd prefere the color scheme is more like this:  Scheme Stuka , Rather than being camoflauge.

I thought it might be useful to provide some of the sprites I have so far for my game, so that you have a style to go by: Example Game Sprites

Thanks in advanced, I will definitly give you credit for your work =)

The object of the game is to shoot the right food item at the people who want the food...pretty easy...

Controls:
Space--- Hold it to build up the speed, release to fire the food.
Left Mouse Button--- Click the food at the bottum to select it, if its faded its not selected...

And I did not make the graphics, I got it all from the game Graal (I originally made it for that...) and most of the food is by Shawn64.

Have fun  :D  =o!
