Hello, I'm pretty good with computers and not too good with visual arts. My friend is great with visual art but pretty computer illiterate.
I'd like to scan hand drawn art and make sprites, backgrounds, etc. with them.
Any tips on doing this? I gave it a quick try and got discouraged, but I think it'll work. Is it easier if the sketch is inked? What process would you use? Should I "trace" pixels over the scan? Is there a photoshop/gimp effect that can help?
