People And Vehicles Request

19 July 2008 - 05:16 PM

Hello! This one should be somewhat fun ;). I need some civilian and military people and vehicles.

The civilians should be about 32x32 and should have a few states; them running in fear (from a deadly UFO), falling, and being abducted (by a tractor beam, but you don't need to include the beam.) The person can look like anything. The more variety, the better.

The civilian cars should just be normal cars and vans and such.

The military people can be any profession that carries a weapon. Ex: A police man, a swat team, the army, anything. They can carry any type of weapon you choose, anything from a pistol to rocket launcher. I do need the basics like pistol, machine gun, etc. but like I said before, the more variety the better (maybe even a flame-thorougher!)

The military vehicles can be, like the people, any type of vehicle that is associated with the above type of professions. Ex: Tank, helicopter, jet, police car, swat van, etc. You can even get creative and make some futuristic stuff like a Jetpack man or a Mech (not too much of that though.)

Here are some examples of what I am looking for (taken from the game Rampage by Midway.)

Moving Down Slopes

31 December 2007 - 02:25 AM

Here's the deal, I'm making a 3D player movement engine in which the player can jump and there are platforms and ramps. I have been able to make everything flawless. Here is my only problem; I don't know how to make the player stay on the slopes when going down them. I need to make it so the player moves at the same angle the slope is at when going down, right now the player moves straight forward and then falls down onto the platform. This makes it look like the player is walking down stairs.
Any ideas?

Thanks,
- Mike

Here is what I have released so far: Topic

Cant Look Strait Down Or Up

29 November 2007 - 02:50 AM

My problem is that I cannot look straight down or strait up. Here is the code I use:

xt=x+cos(dir*pi/180)
yt=y-sin(dir*pi/180)
zt=z+sin(zdir*pi/180)
d3d_set_projection(x,y,z,xt,yt,zt,0,0,1)

When zdir is -90 and z is 32, zt is 31 as should be. But, the display is not viewing straight down as it should, instead of being at a -90° angle, the view is at about an 80° angle.

Any Ideas?

EDIT: New question, see third post.
