Greetings.
I'm sorry if this question was answered in a different thread 'cause I don't really know what its called.
1. I would like to know if there's a specific name for it.
By I meant "tapping continuously", it's like in a platformer when the character is trying to lift or flip a very heavy box, after pressing a button to start grabbing the box, the player will need to tap a key continuously to flip it or move it and if the player stopped tapping halfway, the box will return to it's previous position slowly, something like an arm wrestling game.
For more examples, in the game God of War, Kratos opened quite some doors or gates and when he "squeezed" under the gate, there will be a button symbol telling the player to tap a button a lot of times til the gate or door is opened.
Same thing to Metal Slug, in a level there's a lever there and you'll have to tap A for a while and when it's activated (fully turned upwards) a tank will fall beside you.
Also in Resident Evil 5 when a zombie is trying to grab you(it's more like to eat you) Leon will grab that zombie's palms trying to stop it and we'll have to tap a button continuously for a while and he'll kick it away. Failing in this case will result in killed by that zombie or injured? It's been a while I didn't play that.
Well yeah, not for the others while they are objects and will just return to where it was.
2. Is it possible to write a code/script for this in GML?
Lastly, I apologize for my long and boring post here, I'm not very good at being humorous.
Thanks a lot for viewing this, and thanks again in advance.
Regards,
-Jack
P/S: Forgot to mention that I'm real new to GM, still learning as a beginner.
