"Room_Set_Height/Width" Is Not Working!

05 May 2013 - 06:13 AM

Hello

From yesterday I am trying to create an .apk for Android, and in the debug mode the rooms are resized to the correct measurements, however when an .apk file is made the resizing is not working.

In conclusion, I have a game that works perfectly well in debug mode, yet after an application's made, it seems that room_size_height and room_size_width doesn't work.

Minimal Ammo

29 April 2013 - 09:19 PM

This game has been made for the Ludum Dare 26 competition

This game is about defending your homeland...
Imagine being a farmer, in a calm Mexico... when suddenly a crazy horde of heavy armed Vikings decide on pillaging your farm.... what do you do?!
Yes that's it! Build a tower, and defend your land from there.
Watch out for those Vikings with axes, and them helicopters shooting rockets at your tower.
Also don't forget to replenish your minimal ammo supply, or you will die very fast!
Try to stay alive for as long as possible.

Surfaces (Help Needed Urgently)

13 April 2013 - 12:22 PM

Hi
I have a problem with surfaces, I use quite a lot of them in my application,
In a first room I don't have that problem.
When I am going to a second room, all surfaces on a screen become white squares.
Starting a game from the second room, surfaces are drawn correctly.
Cleaning surfaces doesn't help. I suspect that it is a problem with memory, however I am not sure about that.

I am using:

Samsung Galaxy Ace
Mini computer, 1GB Ram

The size of the surfaces, on which I am drawing the sprites: 960x640 ( sprites are the same size)
... could it be that it just a Gamemaker:Studio limitation?

I do not know how to solve this problem.

Thank you for help in advance!

Cheers

//Edit

When the game starts in room 2, and then I want to go back to room 1, then in room 1 I am encountering the same problem, only white boxes.

I have also checked the requirements of the game maker studio, and my computer meets them all.

Precise collison line

A very fast laser aiming at the nearest object.

Programming : T800 & zx81

After the M.A.M.E. crt filter,
here is our new project: Precise nearest object tracking.

In contrast to the game maker's creators ;) we can guarantee finding an id of the closest object on the line from x0, y0 to x1, y1.
Our script also returns precise point of the collision, and does that in the most efficient known way.

M.A.M.E.

31 January 2013 - 10:22 PM

Hello!
Team Something Beautiful developed a M.A.M.E. filter, that works so fast that it is suitable for use in games. It gives a fantastic old school look. I don't have time today but tomorrow, you will be able to download a set of filters in a resolution of 800x480, or if somebody will want to we will change the resolution, we will also upload our tutorial. We believe thata blurring RGB effect can be applied when making 3D games, but unfortunately we do not have 3D glasses :)/>/>
