I've made quite a few games here and there, but Cave Raiding is my first serious project. At first it was meant to be a quick, simple and basic game. Before you know it, I was adding a story and more features. I'm posting this work in progress project here so that I may have some feedback on how I can improve any details. You will find that story mode has three stages and one boss fight so far, and a challenge/survival mode has been added for those who want more fun. Obviously the project is far from done and much can change depending on the feedback I get. Should I continue on? Are the controls too confusing? Is it fun? Thanks in advance and I hope you have fun on your short raid. Have fun, be safe, and don't be a sludge... ;)

Changes made:
+Added TnT explosion particle
+Smoothed out sticky collision spots
+Text box now transparent

A way around Google Wallet?

20 December 2011 - 10:04 PM

I use my credit/debit card on the internet for everything. Amazon, ebay, paypal just everything..and it works perfectly. But when I try to buy GM 8.1 Standard it makes me go to Google to purchase it. I figured no big deal i'll just add all my card info and yada yada. Well...google keeps declining my card (s) for some reason. I've tried changing around some of the street information and contact numbers and still.....declined. I've tried to buy this a dozen times now. Why cant I just use paypal or something else? Google is sucking hard right now for me... Anyone know the cure to this? I put a ticket out on the yoyogames website but I never hear anything back from them anyway so I know that was a lost cause... I've never had trouble trying to buy something online before...ridiculous. GM 8.1 lite is useless for me. Thanks in advance. :)

Variable not working properly..

09 December 2011 - 10:45 PM

Here's the deal. I have created a variable (global.bat1health) and set it to 100 in a controller of the room. Now in the "attack button" I have set the same variable (global.bat1health) to -25 (relative) for whenever the button is left clicked. Now I test the same variable for going less than 0 and destroy it to move onward with the game. That is my basic setup...Now the problem is that when I click the attack button, it seems like it is just setting the variable to "-25". I have tried unchecking relative to see if was somehow glitched backwards but I guess I am just doing something else wrong or missing something. Seems like a simple process...but it's just not working. As soon as I click the attack button to take away 25 points from the variable...it destroys the enemy and proceeds with the game. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks :)

Character Artist Needed

Solaria is a RPG currently in need of a "character artist(s)"

Description: The character artist must provide concept art for every piece they create. (Example Image Below) The artist can use any medium they wish. (Example: Pen, Pencil, Digital...) There is no current deadline for your work, this position is for those with spare time and have fun sketching characters. When included in the Solaria project, the artist will receive a character description to base their sketch work on. The final piece then will be chosen and implemented into the game.

Will I get paid for this?: No, this is a projected put together for fun and experience. Although you will be given full credit in-game. It should be rewarding enough to see your artwork and creation of ideas in a game available online for download. :)

How many artists will you accept?: Unlimited. This is a free project so I have no problem accepting creative ideas and artwork from others for fun. All those who contribute in ANY way will be given credit where credit is due.

Does my artwork have to be super good?: No, I am open to all skill levels and design. If I do not use your image directly in-game we can pull ideas from it and pass it down to another artist for touching up.

How much work is needed from me?: As much as you would like it to be. At the minimum for the demo, Solaria needs around eight pieces of character art work for things such as "Full body images for character bios" and "Head shots for dialogue" all in-game. You can hardly call this position work, more like fun. :)

How will we keep in contact?: Currently through e-mail, but a forum can be setup to make discussion easier amongst others.

How do I apply?: PM or email me (brucecollinsstudios@yahoo.com) containing your name and a image or link to some of your art work. I keep in very good contact so I will reply within 1-12 hours.
