Lolnut

Game Maker has been a huge deal for me for a long time. Way back in seventh grade a couple of friends and I set out to make a game. We didn't get much farther then arguing over what game engine we were going to use. It was Blenders game engine or Game Maker. I was with game maker but our arguments prevented us from starting anything. I have not used game maker a lot in the past. I got started on a Top Down Space shooter but only managed to finish most of the AI before my HDD dumped its shorts. I lost all of my data, and ended that game. Getting working AI is no small task but when I look back on it I still had 90% of the actual game left to make.

Now I'm back with one of those two friends from middle school. We are about 75% done with a game we are making in Unity 3D but we are experiencing some down time. I figured I needed an outlet to have a personal project to work on so here I am returning to Game Maker. Meanwhile he works on a rogue-like as I write this. I think his game is more legit, using C# as its main language. He is making great progress with it too. He is developing it for the windows phone.

Recently we officially founded our Indie games studio consisting of just us two. It has been dubbed Coding Cat Studios. We are really excited about it as well. It may start out really slow as we worm our way through college, but hopefully once we emerge with our new Bachelor's degrees I plan to see it really take flight. Only time will tell though I suppose.
