In Topic: What Makes A Game A "good Game?"

In My opinion, Its not Just graphics, or even gameplay, its just when all the parts of a game fit together well in one nice package  If i'm Not being clear enough, sorry, its kind-of hard to explain what i'm referring to

You know that old quote of Shigeru Miyamoto that games should be a way to escape reality, not a way of mimic it? Being a fan of his design philosophy, I wouldn't play a reality simulator. Ever. But that's just me.

Oh, and this sounds very, very complex, too. You'll have to write lots of dialogue for all NPCs and so on... are you sure you can handle that? If so, go ahead! :) The idea sounds awesome!

Suggestion: if possible, get a bunch of friends to write dialogue for characters that are like them in personality; it will make the writing more colorful than if you write all of it yourself.

Well, After thinking about it, it would be its own little reality... Though thats hard to explain. Imagine reality, but with the boring bits removed and made interesting, something along those lines  , I've also considered having little backstorys for things, So the game Might have an underlying story, but it be possible to go through the entire game without finding it, As for dialogue, that would probably be one of the hardest parts of the game, being as even a small town could need 50 or so NPC's, each with a personality. I Think it could be very interesting though, because everyone would be different, you could probably get entertainment just from talking to the NPC's.
I'll Have to look into getting people to help me with characters though, I dont think i could manage an entire world of people

I think this is an awesome idea! It certainly will be a HUGE undertaking. But if you're prepared to spend countless painful hours working on it. Someday, it could be something great. I believe in you, little Foxikado!!!

This Goat gives you his blessing and encouragement.

Well, I've been thinking about it, and i think what i'm going to do is start with a town on a small island, and just get the basics down on that, then work my way up from that, but i'm not sure when i'm going to get to coding it  I've not even made a simple map of the island on paper yet...I will have to get working on that.
Also, if there's any features or anything, Suggest them  I'm sure i've missed a ton of things that could make it more fun...

I can make simple nes-style 16x16 graphics with a 256 bit colour range if you want...
That should make your life a bit easier. I can do things like items, computers, tables, carpets, potted plants, plants, water hydrants, items, coins, and so on.

If You could make me one or two "Demo" Sprites, that would be great  Just something simple, like a bottle, or a mobile phone...
Thanks in advance
