About Me
I am a Kiwi who enjoys coming up with wild, wacky and wonderful stories and characters. The culmination of this wild wacky wonderfulness is PENS 3: TIDES OF WAR which tells a serious story without taking itself seriously one little bit. (The story is serious, but is told through a blitz of one-liners and outrageous silliness.)
Lately, I've been experimenting with stories that actually take themselves seriously. The culmination of this serious take is SAVE MY SOUL: MASTER 2, a game that tries to be a mildly creepy and dark adventure.
I taught myself how to use Game Maker, which is the reason my earlier games were ugly and glitchy. I've improved significantly since the release of the original PENS, which is evident in PENS 3 and the PENS remake, PENS: RELOADED. I like experimenting, a fact proven with the varying play styles of my games.
My style is still evident in all of my works, as even the serious stories still take a small break to tell a couple of cheesy jokes. It's inevitable... my humour will break through, even if it's only temporary and/or subtle.
My stories usually originate in peculiar situations. PENS was created when I removed the rubber pen grip off my pen and folded it in half during a science class. Other stories or characters originate in dreams or when I'm trying to fall asleep. The intentionally glitchy character Glitchy Mitchy in PENS 3 originated when I, lying in bed almost asleep, suddenly thought 'what it would be like if something was intentionally glitchy?'. I then imagined a character walking backwards through a solid wall and burst into hysterics for whatever reason.
