Robot Masters:
I did not make all the Robot Masters.  They are edited/shaded/recolored by me to fit the style but the design and idea behind them are not mine.  The belong to the following people (some not on the GMC):
  • Trap Man - Stonehand
  • Blaze Gal - Basty
  • Sketch Man - Xharn
  • Thistle Man - Rydion
  • Number Man - Maverick-PK
  • Sea Man - Damaged
  • Pulse Man - Damaged
  • Aerial Man - Damaged

Thank you all so much for letting me use your Robot Masters! :)

And Finally...
I am so excited to finally be releasing the full game to you all!  It only took what, 5 years?  LOL!  I hope that the wait proves to be worth it.  Since my last HH game I like to think I have improved a bit so I hope that shows in this game.   This game is more for me than anything else as well.  I had always wanted to finish it and I am so glad that I did.  Kind of at a loss actually.  I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do! : )

Enjoy,

Description:
It has been over 5 years since Hard Hat defeated Dr. Wily and this time he is back to face off a new foe... the real Dr. Light (maybe. They did this in MM9 I think so it's not as original as I thought. So I might change the story a bit)! Dr. Light lost Mega Man but he has gained a new companion, the Doc Robot! You will control the disgruntled little Metool (who goes by Hard Hat) as he battles against Dr. Light's 8 new Robot Masters!

  • Terrain Death - This option makes you die when you hit spikes or lava. If it is off you will merely be hurt

And Finally...
I am so excited to finally be releasing a demo of this to you all! It only took what, 5 years? LOL! I hope that the wait proves to be worth it. Since my last HH game I like to think I have improved a bit so I hope that shows in this game.

A funny little side note: Room transitions work differently depending on your OS (Vista, 7, XP). I wanted to work with this so I had the game check what the OS is. This is not nearly as straight forward as I thought it would be @_@ To do it I check to see if the folder C:\Users exists. If it does then the OS is Vista/7. If not, it is XP. Of course if your OS is installed on a different drive letter than C:\ it will think it is XP regardless (you won't lose any functionality though. The transitions will be a bit fast, that's all).

And that is your fun little factoid o' the day!

I hope you enjoy it!

Cubed!

12 July 2010 - 12:25 PM

Game Name: Cubed!

Category: Puzzle
File Size: ~14.8 MB
GM Version: GM8
Vista Compatible: Yes
Screen Resolution: 800x600
Changes Screen Resolution: No
Mulitplayer: No

Overview:

Back in 2003 I made a game called "Damaged Cubes" and it was suppose to be a Tetris styled game for my friend Tina.  We had just got deployed to Kuwait and she wanted to play Tetris so I made something kinda like it.  Needless to say my coding skills were lacking then and it didn't quite accomplish what I set out to do :lol:

Anyways, I have wanted to remake this game for a long long time now and I have finally finished it!  It is suppose to be a "for work" type game (one that you play whilst on hold or something :lol:)  So, here we go!

Download:

Cubed! (instant play)
Cubed! (zip 14.6 MB)
Cubed! (Installer 14.8 MB)

Objective:

The objective of this game is to destroy all the cubes.  Sounds easy?  Yeah, well, the game deems the level complete when there are 3 or less cubes soooo it makes it hard.  Also, the game "helps" at a certain point (depending on difficulty level) which will make it borderline impossible to get that last color you need.

A bonus wouldn't be a bonus if it was easy to get right? :lol:

Controls:

Most people will play this will the keyboard BUT you can control it with the mouse.  There is a whole how to section on the title screen that will go into more depth about this.  For the basics here is what you need to know:

* Arrow Keys move the cubes
* Enter toggles/selects/confirms
* Space pauses
* Escape allows you do end your game and save high score (if high enough   :whistle:)
* Z toggles sound
* X toggles music

For the mouse it is as simple as it gets:

* Left click pushes buttons
* Right click lowers level and random numbers

Title:

The title screen has a few options.  They are:

* New Game
--  This option starts a new game.  To the right of there is a number.  This number is the level you wish to play.  Left click or Right Arrow will raise the number and Right click or Left Arrow will lower the number

* Random
--  This option starts a random game.  Score is not kept track of in this mode.  The level is randomly generated every time you chose this mode of play.  To the right of there is a number.  This number is the number of rows you wish to have in your level.   Left click or Right Arrow will raise the number and Right click or Left Arrow will lower the number

* How to
--  Explains how to play the game

* Normal
--  Pressing Enter when this option is selected or clicking the word will change the game's difficulty

* Scores
--  This is the high score table.  To the right is the highest score and this is the one you want to beat! ::lmao::

I hope you enjoy it!

Using A Variable With Motion_set *solved*

10 July 2009 - 10:21 PM

Ok, I think I might be just overlooking something silly but I can't figure it out so I turn to you ^_^  Here is the code to my script

//argument0 = Bullet Type//argument1 = Bullet Speed;for (i = 0; i <= 360; i +=5){       bullet = instance_create(x+23, y+40, argument0);     with(bullet) motion_set(i, argument1);     }

Now, this works fine in other scripts IF I hard code in the direction.  Basically I have a for loop and depending on the increment I set the angle with a static value.

Though, I really don't want to make a huge switch statement for every increment for this particular bullet pattern (and future ones) so I did a little bit of thinking and said: "Derp!  if I just increment by 5 in my for loop and set my direction to i that will take care of it.  WOOOOO!"  Sadly, this did not work as I had envisioned it ;)  Game maker sends this little lovely my way:

ERROR inaction number 1of Alarm Event for alarm 0for object redFairy3Obj:In script fiveAngleScript:Error in code at line 6:       with(bullet) motion_set(i, argument1);     at position 30: Unknown variable i

Can anyone see what I am doing wrong?

Thank you!

Mike

Changing A Sprite Created From Screen

04 August 2007 - 07:27 PM

Ok, I am trying to make a death background when  my player dies.  What I want to do is:

-Get a screenshot from the current view (320x240)
-Make it black and white <-most important
-Set it as the background in another room

Any help would be greatly appreciated:)

Thanks,
