I need a somewhat experienced spriter

A few things you should know.
You need to be able to draw trees, cars, buildings and characters in isometric view.
If you could also make the chat faces of the character that would be nice, but if you can't, then someone else could apply.

Are you newbie in these forums? That's okay, I'm still new here (kinda), so you may join.
PM me if you want to apply.
Examples of your work would be nice but not required.

Character falls through the floor

21 June 2011 - 09:53 PM

My character (platform game) falls through the platforms. but not the ground (the floor at the bottom of the room).
I'm using a mask, yes.
THIS IS REALLY ANNOYING, I have spect the last hour trying to find out why this happens, but it's impossible.
The character also seems to glide through NPC's (when he's supposed to collide with them and chat).
Help please!
Thanks!

2 Realms

21 June 2011 - 04:09 PM

Okay, in my game I am making, the character is able to see two dimensions: the spirit dimension, where angels and demons live; and the mortal dimension, the dimension we live in. The character can't see both dimensions at the same time, and each realm is an exact opposite of the other.
So when the character presses...say, M, the world he's in will become invisible and replaced with an opposite world. For example, a tree with all its leaves green in the human world might be dead or dying in the spirit world.
Does this sound like a good idea? Could it be a little annoying, perhaps? Should I add anything or remove something?

That Eerie feel

13 June 2011 - 11:24 PM

Yes, I know, I should use the GMC less often, but it's summer, so I have a lot of time for this game (and a lot of time for the GMC).
So, back to the question at hand: I need something that will make my game look scary (since that is the point of the game...kinda). Some lighting effect that makes the game look darker, as if the moon has been blocked out, and periodically makes the game return to  its original lighting (as if there were clouds passing overhead), then back to scary, then normal, then scary, and so on....
Can anyone help me with this? Sorry to waste your time :(

Shooting Lightning?

12 June 2011 - 04:44 PM

In my game, I need to make my character shoot lightning.
And the lightning needs to hurt enemies. So, does game maker come with somehting like that or do I need to: create an animated sprite lightning, create an object and make it kill an enemy on collision, then make the character shoot it out?
And whats the code for creating an object from a specific point in the player (the hands)?
