Crazy For Nuts!

17 September 2011 - 08:35 PM

Nuts is a survival minigame where you are a squirrel that collects nuts while fending off cats.

As the squirrel, you can run around and collect nuts and use your ninja squirrel skills to fight off attacking cats.

   Posted Image

You get to take control of the squirrel and collect nuts that are falling from the tree.... the controls are the arrow keys...When you get close to a cat you can jump with the up arrow key and hit 'z' to do a flip that will get rid of the cat.

-Note you will only be able to jump when you are running.... no standing jumps..

Have fun getting your nuts!

Embed Gm Html5 Games In a GMC Topic

04 September 2011 - 07:28 PM

I have a question concerning posting after gm html5 comes out...

Will you be able to embed games made with gm html5 into a forum post or in your signature?

If it is possible, will it be allowed?

Lets say you made some script and posted it on the forum.

Would you be able to make a little html5 example and put it in with your post?

Or if you wanted to post your new gm html5 game for everyone to play?

MODERATOR EDIT : This is a interesting topic to discuss so please post with what you think, plus any ideas on rules/restrictions etc... that you think should be applied

Multi Language Support

07 July 2011 - 04:32 PM

Since game maker 8.1 got a new font editor, it is now said you can use different character sets to assist with multi language support.... i have tried doing some different things but still haven't gotten anywhere....

I was just wondering how you would go about doing this and if anybody has used it yet.... right now it says it is only for basic multi language support and is still buggy, but

it also said it will recieve updates.... so im hoping this will turn out well.

Thanks in advance

Convert Your Dnd Game into Gml

26 June 2011 - 01:17 AM

Initial Idea

My idea is that a user who created a game with the drag and drop actions, goes up to the edit menu, and hits the show object information button. he then saves it to a file and runs my script.

This script will parse that file and convert it into gml that the user could look at.

What i have

I already know all the code for the actions that they would be converted into...

but....
I need help/ideas on what is the best way to parse the file..... I don't know what the best way would be speed wise so im hoping for some good ideas..   i was thinking about getting each word seperated in the

line and look at those to decide what to do next.....

i thought i would ask here for ideas because i know two minds are  better than one and if you have a whole community to help you, thats even better...
