Music Synchroisation

20 January 2013 - 03:56 AM

Didn't know where to put this. I'd say it was reasonably complex, so...

Well, I'm thinking about making a rhythm game in which a specific song plays in the background, while the player is doing something to the beat, likely clicking things. It'd be sorta like Rhythm Paradise, I guess, in the way it works. I want to measure where the beat is, so the activities may be done to it. Is there something I can use to perhaps help me measure the beat on the dot? I realise that in this area, GM happens to be very restricted, so does anybody know of any DLLs perhaps, that could help?
I need something that can help me trace the beat, keep the game working to that beat and register that the player is clicking to it.Is this possible?

Thanks

Anyone know of a My little Pony sprite template?

I'm planning on making a small game for a friend. It'll involve characters from My little Pony Friendship is magic. Although I've drawn ponies before, I can't quite manage to make an acceptable sprite for the body of a pony, and I'd like a lil' hand please...

So, does anyone know of a good pony sprite template sheet that I could use, to just edit and create characters with, please? It only needs be facing right, and it'd be great if it could have simple animations such as walking and jumping, too. :3

Thanks

Wow...Its been a very very long time, yoyo...

But I'm trying to get back into game maker, and finish a project of mine, only problemo, I still don't have the voice acting I need... and I'd love it if someone could please help me!!
I need a voice for my main character. His name is chosen in game. Hes a pretty friendly guy, really, in his 20's. He's quite sarcastic, but is quite lively and active. Do what ever sorta voice you wish, as long as it seems suitable.
Posted Image imma probably improve his sprites.
Anyway, here are the things he must say!
1; "Start" He should sound a bit excited, this is the level start sound.
2; Something to play when hes talking, like a "hmmm" or "huh" or something.
3; "Arrrrg!" This will play when the player looses a life.
4; "Check point!" Plays when a check point has been reached.
5; A short sorta "ahh" sound, when the player looses a little life.
6; "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Game over noise!
7; "Yeah!" Success!
8; "Stop!" For cut-scene!

Thanks, ill give you the credit if you do it!

Thank ya!
