This game is sweet! I've probably played it for 2-3 hours so far, and it hasn't gotten boring, mainly because of the well done skill curve so props for that.
I agree about the advanced options page, it's really intimidating when you're faced with all those options, and I kind of just ended up avoiding it.
The weapons shop is awesome: it really makes me want to keep playing to unlock more stuff, and the interface is easy to navigate and understand to (probably thanks to the awesome icons for all the weapons)
I didn't understand that special items were just items that you bought from the shop at first, so I turned it off and wondered where all my purchases were lol. (kind of nitpicky but it might help to change that option to shop items or something. (or just explain that they are shop items in the tip)
It's cool to be able to customize your game and all, and I get that you want the storyline to "make itself" (which is very cool btw) but I feel like it would be cool to have some challenges or missions that are always the same and offer a certain level of standardization. (fortress mode is a good start)
Again. This is an AWESOME game and I will likely play it for many hours to come. The hard work that was put into it is evident. good luck
Thank you for commenting! I'm glad you liked the game!
As regards the advanced options, ignore the slidey-scale options but do try ticking one of the extra modes: the lava mode, ghost mode, or the wife/chick mode; it can give the gameplay a twist
Your feedback has been duly noted for future updates

you're right, these are deraily ideas! And i have to admit I like them more than my own (recylced) onesKinda deraily here.
Grinder aka Super Hero - You have a single unit. Your only means of survival is to make this unit so strong nothing can beat him.
Zombie - If one of your units die, it will return to life as an enemy, fully healed and with all its skills and equipment. (Dead enemies will also not stay dead either)
zombie sounds cool, the idea that its doubly-importantly, tactically, to keep your units alive - otherwise your enemy becomes stronger on your losses. This could lead to some challenging tactical decisions, because the player has to think about how to kill the enemy and not lose their troops (Rather than just throwing soldiers away carelessly)
Let me know if you ever try making these ideas out !

Thanks for taking the time to play and review the game! I really appreciate your kind feedbackAfter playing the game in two modes (fortress and team battle mode) I can tell that tons of work went into this. The graphics are excellent, with good sound and music. And there's tons of features, options, playing modes, editing, etc. So +1 for that.
That said, I think I suffered from "feature overload".There's just too many features and options for my taste. It was hard to navigate through them all. But that's just me. I prefer simple arcade games, so I wish this had a very simple mode where you just move/jump/escape etc.
However, I think most players here will enjoy this game, so it definitely deserves more attention. It's a high quality game, and worth a play.
"Feature overload" is an interesting point, when I come back to working on this, I could make an 'instant play' mode with no options/modes or anything - just click and youre playing instantly. If you think that would make a nice addition to the menu?
I did try and 'hide' all of the more fiddly options in the advanced options menu to prevent overload but as a consequence I think that the advanced options screen is clustered and probably slightly hard to understand. On the other hand, my intention in adding as many modes, options and weapons as I imagined, was because the game doesn't have a story - this is more about emergent stories such as what happens when you play hotseat with your friends or siblings. And therefore I was aiming to increase the replayability by increasing the options and modes.

@Scott
Money is earned as soon as you have survived 10 turns or more, and then the amount increases at a growing rate for every turn survived after that - so the longer you survive, the more money you earn per turn of survival (regardless of what your personal best is)
I thought that might be the case.
I get 40+ turns every game, but sometimes I dont earn anything...
Edit: Just played a fortress game, lasted 52 rounds and the only cash I got was $10 for an achievement.
Edit 2: Just lasted 72 rounds, which is my new high score and recieved money.
Seems to me im only getting paid for beating scores, is it just me experiencing this?
That's really bizarre. I think I might know what the problem is though!
And a general announcement on the game, I will upload a final version tonight (as I won't have any more time in the foreseeable future to continue working on it) - but nonetheless I will come back to the project from time to time in the future and make some good challenges for the game.
