Dashboy -Action, Retro Platformer Abour Dashing

29 May 2013 - 05:31 PM

DashBoy is a platformer about jumping, running and dashing! It's very similar to my last game RGBOY but I want to design this game better with a better learning curve.

So I guess I might as well post my website here.

Zaerdna_Blog_Logo.png

It's got games (made with gamemaker). Currently only 2 available for download since I decided not to put my older titles here (might do it some day)

It's got some pixel art I've drawn. Lots of it is stuff I've drawn for fun and not for a specific project.

So if you've got feedback on anything feel free to leave it here!

Rgboy -2D Platformer About Changing Color

21 May 2013 - 04:52 PM

Intro

I'm sure you've heard this concept before and here's my take on it!
You play as RGBOY (Are-gee-boy) and you must get to the end of every level! But canons, bouncing balls and spikes in different color are stopping you.

You can change color with the A-S-D-F keys. And only when you're RED can you walk on RED blocks. Red enemies (spikes, balls, bullets) can't hurt you if you're red.

This is a bonus level. It's crazy hard and I don't even know if it can be completed (that's why it's a bonus!)

Feedback, please

The reason why I'm posting about it here (so far after its release) is because I'm thinking about updating it. With more levels, obstacles and fix some poorly designed stuff.
so basically I need feedback! What would you like to see in an update? What's not working correctly? Tell me! (If you don't want to tell me here send me an e-mail)

Colorblind mode
I am aware that colorblind people can't play this game very well and I know code-wise how to add a function so colorblind people can play but I'm not sure how I'm suppose to replace the colors. Most people have a problem not seeing the difference between red and green so what are good replacements? Keep in mind that blue and gray-scale is already used. I would really appreciate someone talking about this!

Invertigo is all about a simple concept. Instead of falling to a certain death when going down holes, what if you'd just keep falling?

Please let me know what you think about the game/website!

Invertigo - Puzzle platformer with a twist!

15 February 2011 - 12:15 AM

When playing a platformer, don't you just hate it when you keep falling down the pits and die?
Having to restart the game just because there was a hole in the way.

Well I thought so too until I came up with the BRILLIANT idea behing Invertigo.
If you go down, you come out at the top.

Just think of the AMAZING levels you could make!

So far there are just test levels.
I have a prototype with temporary graphics and NO sounds effects If you'd like to try.
Please tell me if this is a good concept and seems like it could turn out to a fun game.

The goal of the game is to get to the BLACK box. In order to do so you need to lock up the gates.
The small seizure acting red square deactivates the red boxes. Same for green, but for blue , the small blue squares ACTIVATES the blue boxes.
