Aeronesia

15 January 2011 - 07:56 PM

Aeronesia is a platform RPG set in a world of floating continents. The main character finds himself in this alien place, along with hundreds of other random people who arrived there over time, and his obvious intent is to find a way out. I guess you could describe the world as a mixture of fantasy and post-apocalyptic. I guess you could also say it's a "new take on an old cliché" kind of world.

The gameplay consists of exploration, interaction with other characters, combat, "quests", and some "moral" choices. The demo is rather linear, but the full game will have an open world (starting from the point where the demo ends, heh).

The game features pixel graphics (currently over 300 frames of character animations), combat (both melee and firearms), some exploration and interaction with a variety of bizarre characters, dark humour, a perk-based level-up system, some "quests" and "moral" choices. The demo is rather linear, but the full game will feature an open world (starting from the point where the demo ends, heh).

Music by the Wanderlust project.

Warning: contains blood, swearing, and some mature themes. There is an option to reduce profanity and gore, and most of the "adult" elements are implied rather than shown, but still, don't think of it as a family-friendly game.

The game is created in Game Maker 8 and uses the bgm extension for music. The size is about 8.7 MB.

If you want to see the game in action and some extra content not featured in the demo, you can have a look at this (slightly outdated) video.

All feedback welcome! It's my birthday today, so please leave some :) Also, (try to) play through the whole demo, it's not that long. Oh, and "iland" is an intended spelling.

Avarice

02 November 2010 - 10:03 AM

Avarice is a short 3d game made for a 64digits Halloween competition. It's created in GM8, the file is slightly over 5 MB.

It's not really an adventure game, but rather a storyline-driven game with some exploration and a combat sequence, it just didn't fit in anywhere else. Not to be confused with an RPGMaker jRPG with the same title ;)

You can think of the game as a project to try out the 3d engine. All comments on the engine itself (and how you like the cheesy graphics and the combat) welcome.

You can get it over at YYG: http://www.yoyogames.../150276-avarice
Or download it from box.net: http://www.box.net/shared/ici7963ug9

Wanderlust is my RL friend's music project. You can find his music here: http://www.reverbnat...nderlustproject
An unused track for the game can also be found here.

The storyline is based on the Pardoner's Tale from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales.

Warning: Gore (well, 3d pixel blood and some murders going on).

P.s. I'm surprised the forum isn't flooded by Halloween-themed games, tbh. Sorry for being a bit late with this one...

Loneliness

15 December 2009 - 08:06 AM

The only other living person in the town - you have to kill.

All the others are dead - because you already killed them.

Warning: Disturbing. And cheesy. And disturbing.

Hey guys. Loneliness is my experimental game as a trip into GM's 3d functions. It's really short, and according to some opinions, genuinely disturbing, so feel warned. It took me just 3 days, so I don't expect too much praise, but most opinions have been positive. If you just follow what you're "supposed" to do, you can beat this game in under a minute.

It's not really an adventure/exploration game, but that's probably the closest approximation :)

Astatine

22 March 2009 - 12:55 AM

Hey guys. I am hereby announcing the completing of Astatine, my platform game with emphasis on exploration, story and combat ("metroidvania", if you will). It is inspired by a variety of games, mainly Cave Story and Quake (the original one). The music was done by Purianite.

Any suggestions are welcome, but please be warned if you make any major ones I'll probably murder you with an axe (since I have an issue with posting a game hundreds of times and getting no feedback, and then releasing it and getting tons of suggestions all of sudden).

Anyways, have fun - hopefully!

Game size: 10+ MB
No resolution change, starts windowed (fullscreen available)

If you need help, Julius at YouTube did a great walkthrough of Astatine (although a slightly outdated beta version), which you can find here:

Enjoy!

Super America Go Go

28 September 2008 - 06:21 PM

Super America Go Go is the shooter game inspired by the old arcade games and with the simple graphics and style but not totally retro. Its storyline is based to the events in the world, especially USA, so it may be confusing to some and not appeal to the everyone.

(the original title of the game was Super Estonia Go Go but then I changed it because it didn't have Estonia inside really)

The GM version is GM7.
The game doesn't change the resolution and it plays in the window.
