Assembling team for an adventure game
19 July 2010 - 11:35 AM
I am looking for anyone who would be interested in forming a team. I have an idea for an adventure RPG game that is very unique, since there are so many of those generic games out now. I'll make this short and sweet: anyone can help. whether you are a spriter, programmer, or composer ranging from beginner to advanced, you can join. I just want to see how many people would be interested, and how big of a game we can make this. Please, do not hesitate to PM me if you are interested. Thanks!
Hyrule Universe
14 February 2010 - 08:58 AM
I have (what I think) is a pretty solid idea for a game, and wanted to get feedback on it. It's basically a Zelda Game, starring Link of course, but its not like all the rest of them. I thought what I would do is break away from the traditional "Ganondorf took Zelda, go and save her with the Master Sword" story, and do a RPG-type game.
The story is during a time of peace in Hyrule, and so the king of Hyrule has sent Link, his greatest warrior, out to scout/explore the rest of the world. There will be many missions, Looking at about 450-500 missions, leading up to a final "storyline" mission.
Gameplay:
-Controls: W,A,S,D to move Link, 0-9 for elements (and other combinations if there is not enough), and the mouse to control the cursor (either Link's hand or the fairy Navi). Will also feature in the HUD health and mana.
-Elemental Links: Link will now have the power in this game to obtain elements and use them to his advantage. For example, there is elements as common as "fire" Link, to unique powers such as "Volcano" Link.
-Companions/Army: Another aspect of gameplay is the option of having companions throughout the game. Some companions can follow you throughout the rest of the game, others are just for missions. You can even become the general and control the Hyrulian Army in some missions.
-RPG: There will be many items in this game, such as weapons and armor, to keep true to the RPG aspects of the game. Link will start with simple stuff like his green clothes and hat, but can be upgraded to different suits of armor and different weapons. You can also select items, pick them up, and even attack with the help of a cursor.
-Missions: As I said before, I plan to do 450-500 missions (might do more), so there will always be something to do. Many missions you can just pick up and choose to complete now or later. Start as many missions as you want until you find one you want to complete. (Will develop missions later)
-Exploration: There will be a HUGE sandbox environment to explore, with many different types of lands to search, and many different races to interact with. There might be other planets to explore if I choose to go beyond the 500 missions, but the world should be enough for now.
This is all I have for now, but if there is anything I should add, change or take out, please let me know. I would love any suggestions on the game, as this is a rough outline of the game. Once the game is more developed, I might start coming up with the items, elements, and missions to do. This would also be great material to suggest. Thanks!

Sony Legends
21 December 2009 - 09:23 AM
One of my work in progresses is a game called "Sony Legends", a Super Smash Bros type of game with Sony-exclusive characters. The game would play out a lot like SSB, since it will be in 2-d form. I just need help on which characters I should put in and leave out. I'm not sure about the name, either. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome!
Moving Right?
12 December 2009 - 02:54 AM
I have always had this problem with platformer games, but there is this one problem where the player will freeze when transitioning from left to right. I have two object, the player facing and moving left, and the player facing and moving right. I made it so if you press the left key while as the right player, it changed the object into moving left. It would move left perfectly, but when i try pressing the right key while facing left, it will freeze a little bit. Once i press it again, it's perfectly fine, so I was wondering what I have done wrong? thanks
