Hey,
I'm having some trouble about how I would make a moving object, similar to Cosmic Mario in Super Mario Galaxy, only in 2D. I want to show the background, like a hole in the exact shape of the sprite. Is there a way I could stop any part of a sprite drawing within a certain area, or perhaps remove a single colour from a surface? Any help is appreciated :D

Level Designer Needed
21 December 2010 - 11:52 PM
Hello All,
I am in need of a level designer for a new Mario game that i am making, which is based off of "Hello Engine 4". I will need 8 different worlds, each with approximately 6-8 levels, a mini castle and a regular castle. These levels should have a difficulty ranging from level 1-1 in "Super Mario Bros 3", to the levels in "Super Mario forever". Those level designs can be seen here:
The world bases will be as follows:
World 1: Grassland
World 2: Desert land
World 3: Ice land
World 4: Beach/Water land
World 5: Forest land
World 6: Mountain land
World 7: Sky land
World 8: Lava land
Please note: While i will be giving quite a lot of credit, money will not be involved here.
Any help would be highly appreciated. I can take the level designs as image files, but you can send me the levels too
. they need to be snapped to a 16x16 grid.
Thanks in advance,
Splatform
EDIT: I still need these level designs.

Drawing a sprite on a sprite
02 October 2010 - 08:53 AM
Hey everyone!
I was wondering how i would draw a sprite on top of a sprite. I have an animated sprite which i want to draw on the area of another sprite. More specifically, i want to have sprite2, drawn with, say, an alpha value of .5, on top of sprite1 with the same shape. To demonstrate what i mean, i made a diagram:

This is what i want. Notice how the edge of the sprite is cut off. Please keep in mind that sprite1 will be very precise. If you have played New Super Mario Bros and have gotten a star, then you will know what effect i am trying to create.
Thanks in advance,
Splatform
PS. sorry for the large image!

SIZE: 32x32 or 16x16
FORMAT: Up to you, as long as it's not Jpg.
STYLE: Something similar to this:
(Yes, similar to Floodrunner
)
VIEW: Sideview.
Credits will be given.
Sorry, but there will be no paying.
Thanks in advance,
Serverplatform, Splat.
EDIT: Nevermind, I've made 'em myself.

Help With Sound Handling.
12 September 2010 - 07:15 AM
hey everyone. hope this is in the right place.
Anyway, i have noticed that there is a short pause at the start of a midi/between loops.
i have heard that this is GM's fault for not handling the midi properly. is this true? and if so, how would i bypass this?
Thanks in advance,
Splatform.
