Topics I've Started

Game Maker Errors Sub Forum

18 April 2010 - 05:26 PM

I think it's time we created a Game Maker errors sub forum in the community forum. This sub forum would only be for asking for help with Game Maker in-program errors, not softwrap problems.

Here's why I think it's a good idea... Look how many people have been asking the same questions over and over again using different words. If they were able to view an index of Game Maker errors, like in a sub forum, they might just be able to find the problem they were looking for without asking us a fifth time. At the moment, they're buried deep within 176 pages of topics.

All this would take is a little extra time from an admin or volunteer to go through the Community forum and move all of the Game Maker error topics to the Game Maker errors sub forum.

Just an idea. What do you think of this? O_O

What this would look like:

Gmindie Magazine

03 April 2010 - 06:13 AM

There's already a GMIndie Magazine topic posted by a former GMIndie team member. But he doesn't manage the topic anymore... So it's impossible to update it.

I've been asked to post a new topic for GMIndie Magazine. One that will actually be updated sometime this year. O_O

GMIndie Magazine is as you guessed it... A game maker magazine.

Add Your Site To Our Sources
If you are interested in having your website added to our sources, email us at gmgazette.gmnetwork.tk. Be warned in advance that we do not accept all websites. So you may or may not get a yes.

Is this Game Maker Journal?
No. GMJ was my blog and DIED because I made an unwise choice in attempting to move it to the news page on GMS. I was requested to post this seeing that I am on GMS Staff...
Game Maker Gazette belongs to Josh (owner of GMS) and not me. Josh has moved some of my old posts from my blog to his with permission from me.
I have also taken liberty of posting a few articles on his blog with permission.

Gmindie Radio / Gmindie Podcast

29 October 2009 - 08:38 AM

Welcome

EDIT: I've combined both GMIndie Radio and GMIndie Podcast topics because one of the admins doesn't understand the difference between a podcast and a live radio show. ;)

GMIndie Radio and GMIndie Podcast are both quality audio media produced by GMIndie themselves. GMIndie Radio is a live radio show broadcasted with dozens of live listeners, while the podcast is a pre recorded serious discussion.

How do I listen to a LIVE broadcast of GMIndie Radio?

EDIT: Why am I still bumping this topic and editing the first post? Because GMC doesn't allow other people to use an account other than your own. So Brian has no way of editing the first post. He also refuses to get a GMC account so I have to bump this thing for him :(

Annoying Topic Address Changes

02 October 2009 - 03:44 PM

This isn't something new. This has been happening to me for a long time.

Sometimes I will bookmark a GMC topic and when I go to check on that topic the next day I get the following message.
Sorry, the link that brought you to this page seems to be out of date or broken.

Usually I just figure that someone deleted the persons topic, or even my topic. But whenever I go back, the topic is still there  :)  but the address (a.k.a URL) has changed.

This error doesn't occur every single time. But it does happen every once in a while and is very annoying. I checked my browser to find out if it was my browser that was causing the problems. It wasn't.
Has this happened to any of you? Why is this happening at all?
