well, what's the use of a dll if I need to make a gml version of it?

well, it's not a downloaded dll, it's a dll made by my friend in c++ language.
Also, just tell me if i'm wrong, I shouldn't put the dll in the included files manager, I should just place it in the game folder and initialise it in each script, right?

I have some knowledge in gml, I only want to be sure we can use it before buying a liscence.
I have some more questions :
Does GML can do this too? :
Read and create custom extension files? (like No_Name.sdm for maps)
install the game, I know it is possible, but is it possible to create expansion of the game?
