Nvm, it works now, though you should change the edit sprite button, as it tries to open a .gmspr in Paint which won't work..

Stupid mistake, I left the .gmspr support unfinished. Probably other formats (.tga?) have the same thing. Not really a big problem, though? Maybe I should just let it execute the picture viewer (you can open an editor from there).

It goes into 8-bit mode. I am not joking.

Huh? That is really weird, it does not change any resolution setting at all. It must be some internal GM problem or your PC... I think it has to do something with the browsing dialog being drawn on top of the GM window, but making a custom file browsing dialog would be too much work (and laggy). I made and tested this with Windows Vista and 7, it should work normally... Do my model editor (on my YYG page) also have this problem for you? Because that app basically uses the same graphics settings.

Except when I do that the display goes weird. I told you that in my last post. Distracted by Hello Kitty Vader, hmm?

By 'display goes weird', you mean the screen moves a few pixels bit down and right, to leave a black border at left and top? If so, I thought Windows Media Player did that, and is probably a Game Maker bug. If not, exactly tell me what is wrong.

Would this not result in flashing and distracting animated sprites as screenshots, instead of the current garbage they use now? I mean the bad games, otherwise this is a great idea.

:P It looks nice, but I can't do anything sprite related 'cause it f***s up my display and backgrounds - I'm not going there. I know it's a WIP, but this, well, it seems like it's a way for you to show off your GUI skittles :P.

What do you mean by messing up the sprites and backgrounds? You just select an external image and done. Just keep the images where you last loaded them so the program finds them when re-opening the project. And the basic editor parts are already functional enough to make a level, the GUI is not to show off at all, but I kept it as similar to Game Maker as possible. And a lot of buttons do not function yet, that is not meant to show off the GUI, but just to have already done that.
Btw, LOL!
