Thank you for the reply!

Alright let's see if I understand you correctly. The process I should follow is:

1) Purchase W8 and install it as a subOS on my computer

2) Uninstall GMS from W7 partition (to save a license? Or to avoid duplicate program? Idk)

3) Install GMS W8 on W8 partition (with the license I just uninstalled from GMS W7?)

4) Use a shortcut to access my previous W7 projects from GMS W8

5) Now it should work...?

OR can I skip step [2]? And have two copies of GMS running on my same machine? One GMS W7 and one GMS W8?

I would prefer to use the W8 partition almost exclusively for exporting purposes. Meaning that I would develop games in the W7 environment, and only use the W8 environment to export and test on W8. Will this work?

Thank you very much for the help.

You're trying to make it sound like YoYo are handing out discounts and dev store codes as if it's a service to us for which we should be grateful. No. We don't owe YoYo anything for allowing us to partake in what is ultimately a business arrangement, certainly not our silence if we disagree with them or if we disagree with the terms of the arrangement. Stop suggesting that people should just shut up and take it if they have a complaint. Your continued bias makes me cringe.

YYG doesn't owe us anything either... TV your recent posts especially seem really anti YYG haha. They aren't perfect but they aren't evil either. Chance is not "suggesting that people should just shut up and take it," he is pointing out that it is really immature, childish, and self-centered to attack YYG on everything simply because you bought software from them haha ;)

Since this competition is only for GameMaker: Studio users, we have decided that for the duration of May we are offering GameMaker 7, 8 and 8.1 customers the unique opportunity to upgrade to GameMaker: Studio Professional (Normally $99) for only $50!

How do we go about purchasing this GMS Pro upgrade with the discount? Looking at the YYG website I only see the option to buy the $99 version, and no 'upgrade for $50' option. I'm hoping to buy today... ;)

EDIT: Also, does upgrading erase GM8.1? I would still like to have a copy of that just in case. And if not, I assume that I will be able to open all my previous GM8.1 and GM7 files directly from GMS?

Wow, very impressive contest. Thank you for hosting it! I think the best part about competitions like this is that it generates such great, high quality content from people entering the contest.

ClassyGoat: The room size is roughly 20,000 x 20,000, Much too big for wall objects. The game will not lag because most of the room is empty space.

Yambam: Ah yes primitives of course. Thank you, your explanations are very helpful.

Smarty: Perfect, thank you. This helps make clear Yambam's answer to [2].
