I'm wondering if it would be possible to have a code so a specific tile layer or all tile layers will fade out sort of like tile_layer_hide and after a certain amount of time fade back in like tile_layer_show? Or is there a way to make the hiding of the tile layer gradual taking place over a timespan?

Would it be possible for an object or something else to reflect the tiles and/or objects of a room across an axis (i.e. x=416) and for it to flash back and forth between visible and invisible? THe only way I can think of is to make a maassive object file but that seems to be inefficient and would ruin the ingame fps.

Combining Several Rooms

IS there way to combine several rooms together into one bigger room without having to redo all of my work on a new blank room?
For example:
room 1 640x480
room 2 640x480
room 3 320x160
Combined into
room 4 1600x1120

Hello GMC,
For my latest game Jumpert: Advent of the Twilight Devil, an exploring platform similiar to a metroidvania type game though with a more developed plot line, I have begun the game design with the actual engine being completely done. I have a graphics artist working on tilesets but for now IM just using an already made and blatantly obvious tileset.
Anyways I am in need of a programmer to program one boss for me as it is beyond my programming skill though I have several ideas on how to accomplish the task. The Boss Design is already layed out in a rather detailed 3 page design document. All thats required is a moderate to high skill level of programming. More information is available upon request.
If you complete the programming you will be credited as Boss Programmer _______ with the blank being your name of choice along with a logo if you want.
Some Level Designs Without any enemies or other terrain added in (Sorry about the quality accidently saved as a jpeg):

Playing A Video In A Background Of A Level

How would I have a video in avi or wmv format play in a background of a level?
I have tried the drag and drop command, room code, and GML commands but all that shows is a black screen how do I fix this?
