If you DO happen to update this, could you show us how to change the AI's actions by saying something? Like when you press [Enter] and type "Follow Me" he follows but if you type "go away" or "stay" he'll do that? Then we could change it ourselves to say things like "attack" etc.

Fred, that's a different story. First off, that game was porting an exact copy of Starcraft to the DS, they weren't making a fangame. Secondly, I never said you couldn't be sent a cease and desist order...in fact I said you could, and that once the original creator makes it clear (whether by making a blanket statement or a specific one regarding your individual project) that they do not want you to use their works, you will be breaking the law by continuing. If they have made no statement one way or another, then you could assume they were fine with it (as long as you do not charge for it and you put at LEAST one disclaimer), but the second they post a note on their official website or in their material OR specifically contact you and say "you may not use our content" you better be done with that project immediately.
Now, the second part is mainly my interpretation, but the first makes this example OBVIOUS copyright infringement as they were trying to clone it for another system without permission. It's actually directly stated in the law that products that attempt to be better than the original (by adding extra features etc) or copied/reproduced for non-educational purposes are considered illegal. And that's not just my interpretation, it's pretty direct.
And anyway, I said you remained calm, not persistent...I understand your persistence, and in a way I mirrored it for awhile as I "knew" it was legal. I see now that we're BOTH wrong in that individual circumstances must be taken into account in order to create a legal product etc.

Well, look at some of the things being experimented with today (such as corn oil or whatever being used in place of gasoline) and implement them in full force.
It's hard for me to truly help you by giving more detail considering the fact that you're using magic...how can it be realistic and magical at the same time? It can LOOK realistic no doubt, but the design itself becomes less believable when you throw magic into the mix...

But "what does that have to do with this topic?" was my point =P Oh well...What? The max size for the forums is like 64, which would make my DP on messenger look pretty bad.
Fair enough. That part is partially interpretation, so you can agree or disagree all you want. =]Can't really say anything on that last part since I'm not sure.
17 and some fraction...iono, I guess 1/2 since my b-day's in April. Whatever the case, 17 and counting down until 18 ;D My main point with that was that you shouldn't assume things about people online cuz you never know, and that I was feeling a little flame-war coming on since I disagreed with HpPallion's post which was something I found to be completely unfair as I never attacked HpPallion personally, just made a statement about her post. I kinda went on the defensive after that, but it all calmed down so I'm good. Sorry if I was being at all arrogant before XP(And how old are you if your not a kid? Then again your probably right and I shouldn't of put it that way, I would count as a kid too, depending on what you count one.)
ANYWAYS, back to the topic at hand;
@ Virx67: No, it's not a parody and you haven't proven Fred wrong. It seems that this particular example would be legal given the circumstances, but after FINALLY finishing reading the entire law (so many articles and additions and whatnot O_o) I've come to the conclusion that the law itself dances around in circles so that individual cases must be dealt with individually. It's up to your interpretation, but ultimately the specific examples provided in the Fair Use Act and overall Copyright laws do NOT give examples for each case (obviously) and, more specifically, do NOT give any indication as to what you have said being true. Yes, parodies are legal, no this is not a parody.
Besides, the author's Italian...they have different laws, so this is sort of a wasted thread, though it DID inspire me to actually read the entire law front to back, so I suppose it did SOMETHING right =P
@FredFred: I admire your ability to stay cool even though the same points were being provided to you again and again...and that parody example is quite amusing XD
@Everyone: Basically, I'd say this is why everything has a disclaimer saying "use/do/etc at your own risk" as this may or may not be illegal. Until we see a court case about a fangame or something, this is up to your interpretation and you alone must decide if you wish to make a game out of a book/movie/etc.
